Bombay Bicycle Club and Psych

Today's song is by a little band called Bombay Bicycle Club. What makes this band so different is pretty much everything! Their look, their sound, the way they use their instruments, everything is unique. They don't try and have a specific look; they wear what they feel like wearing. And then their music, well, its just incredible. I love how indie this band can get and how dark they can go with the musical sounds. Its kind of incredible to hear them! This song in particular has a moment when their sound gets pretty dark and then switches back so quickly to make this song seem like something that is completely alive. This song has that cafe kind of feel good sound to it. It is something that is kind of neutral but also more light hearted. I love the vocals in this song and the band's vocals in general. They are quite gentle and soft and don't pack a powerful punch. They remain light and almost feathery in way. There is a fullness to his voice, but it is not necessarily rich or powerful or deep. It remains something that is more surface level, but it suits the style of the music that Bombay Bicycle Club produces. This song is actually kind of cool because of how drum based it is. There is a point in the song that is almost completely a drum solo and I really like that. A lot of times the drums take a seat back in terms of popularity or supposed importance. But in this song, the drums make up a large part of the overall music sound. That and the bass guitar of course. The bass guitar kind of takes over the song at some parts and it is just fantastic. Bombay Bicycle Club is definitely a band worth checking out! Today's instrumental song is from one of my favorite shows ever-Psych. For those of you who have not seen this show, PLEASE DO!! It is hilarious and smart and just great! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
