Dr. Srimix and Kygo

Today I have some cool music for you from two very unique and wonderful places! This weekend marked a dance competition for me, so of course I have to post some Indian music. But plot twist, this is a mashup between Indian and Western music. I haven't posted music like this in a long time, so I think it will be a really cool change of pace! We all know that mashups are all over places like Soundcloud and YouTube, and a lot of these mashups are often two English songs coming together. But, when you delve deeper into the world of mashups, you get some really cool mixes of music from all over the world. A combination of English and Spanish, Spanish and Hindi, French and English, etc. There are so many kinds of mashups out there and it dawned on me that it would be so perfect for me to share some of them! So today I am trying it out, seeing if I can find a style of mashup that people really like. Now for me personally, Hindi mashups of any kind are some of the sickest. Of course I am a little biased, but I genuinely think that there is so much versatility in Indian music, that it makes it a great choice for mashups. You can have super intense sounding mashups, sweet and cute ones, or ones that get you on the dance floor. All three just work so well with Indian music. This mashup is done by one of my favorite independent artists, Dr. Srimix. He is responsible for some really wicked mashups and remixes. This is one of my favorite ones I heard by him, and was pretty much mind blown. This song is a great take on a very popular song by Justin Bieber. It has that fierce and secy feel to it, making it something that I definitely have caught myself strutting to. It has that really strong energy to it and I definitely love dancing around to this song. Not in a super crazy or sexy way, but just jamming out in a fun and cool adn chill way. Jai Matt is the vocalist for this song, and he is one that is very popular in the dance circuit, one who knows what it is like to take English songs and turn them into something totally different and original.  There is a really good balance between the English and Hindi songs, both with the vocalization and actual musicality of the song. The main beat of the song comes from the English song, and the rest of the song is made to match that. The overlaying instrumentals come from the Hindi song, giving it that more exotic sound and making sure that the bad ass nature of the English song is there, while maintaining the seductive sound of the Hindi song. And then there is a great back and forth between both languages throughout the song. Dr. Srimix is someone I avidly follow, and genuinely enjoy hearing. There is definitely more material on Soundcloud, so go check his music out! There are a lot of different styles of remixes that he does, and you may just end up loving his music! Today's instrumental song is by the classic and father of modern tropical music, Kygo. This song originally features the vocals of Ella Henderson, an artist that I love dearly. But with this song, we get that unique Kygo sound, the one that many try to replicate, but just cannot. One of my favorites and a really fun song! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
