Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Deadpool

Today is all about the movie that everyone is buzzing about right now. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hit the theatres today, and my oh my were we in for a treat. Now I don't want to give my opinion on the movie or give out spoilers because I personally don't like it when other people do that to me. Getting people really hyped up gets your expectations super high, and then if the movie doesn't meet that then it seems like a waste. However, I will say that I was not disappointed by the movie. But one of the real heroes of this movie is Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL. These magnificent human beings made the movie even more impacting, even more intense, and even more bad ass because of how wickedly fierce the score was. There were some beautifully sad pieces, that is for sure. But the darkness that seeps throughout each of the pieces, the sheer danger that vibrates with every pound of the drum, it is breathtaking. Hans Zimmer is a composer who is known for composing some of the most epic scores ever, and Junkie XL is a composer who is a master of the art of intensity and ferocity. His work includes the score for 300, which was not only raging, but untamed. Put both of these composers together and you know that the soundtrack will be powerful enough to blow you away. I was totally awe struck and mind blown by how perfectly raw and dark and epic this score was. I have to admit, this was one of the darkest superhero movies I have ever seen, and is really dark in comparison to movies that have come out in general. And of course, we have the conflict between the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel. This warrants two very different but distinct score sounds. Each hero has a specific theme and stylistic element that is attached to them because of their own movies. But Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL integrate both themes so well, twisting them into shadowy ribbons of melody and whispers. That balance between the two themes also gives us a sense of what is happening with the individual characters and what is about to happen. The score for this movie tells a lot about what is going to happen next, and there is one moment towards the end of the movie that had my jaw dropped. The introduction of a certain superhero was accompanied by this loud crescendo of sound until it crashed and segued into this incredible fight theme. I mean we have electric guitars screaming, the orchestra bellowing in the background, and all the while, a scene stealing character is doing things that make them even more bad ass. I know, how much more vague can I be? But I just don't want to drop any spoilers on people who haven't seen the movie or trailers. Anyway, this score is one of the best I have heard from any kind of hero movie, Marvel or DC. There is so much complexity in the music which reflects how complex the characters truly are. I absolutely love it! Since we are talking about superheroes anyway, the second song of the day comes from the Marvel Universe. Junkie XL is a prominent composer that no one knows about, and I thought it would be nice to put up some more of his music. This song comes from Deadpool. Now this movie was one of the funniest I have seen in a long time. I was crying with laughter throughout the movie and still managed to get the action and fight scene fix that I wanted. Junkie XL really killed it with this score as well, and did a fantastic job composing. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
