Two Door Cinema Club and Hancock

Today I have some music for you by one of the greatest and most fun indie bands of all time! Two Door Cinema Club is a band that is really well known in teh world of indie music, and for good reason. Something that makes this band so great is that they don't define themselves to living in certain boxes. They don't necessarily stay within the boundaries of the subgenres of indie music. They can go indie rock, dance pop, punk revival, just to name a few. This song is one of my favorites by them, and I would like to think that it falls more in the indie pop and dance category. This song does have a little bit of an older, more retro kind of sound. There are elements of disco that we can hear in the syncopation and guitar This song has this ear-worming sleekness to it, and is something we just cannot get out of our heads. I mean, this is a song that will get you up and dancing! There is such a liveliness and spring in the way the guitar is played. This is a thrillingly optimistic song, one that is spunky and full of youth. This is a song that relies on the marriage between electro pop and indie rock, a perfect balance between programmed synths and plinking guitars. This song has this infectious energy that gets your blood flowing and the mood bright. I would also like to point out, that this is a band that aces the live performances. I mean not only is the music perfect, but the vocals are on point. And while he does like to change this up a bit in live performances, the lead vocalist sounds perfect live as well. And what is even better, is that the band does perform with all three of their guitars. Two electric guitars and one bass guitar leave room for some really nice sounds. The high register guitar riffs are a solid addition to the song, especially since they make up a large part of the main melody. But when you throw all of these elements together, this is a song that you can seriously jam to because of its creative appeal and overall vivacious sound. When you look at Two Door Cinema Club, they may not necessarily sound like the most original band. You could compare them to the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Phoenix, and Passion Pit. But at the same time, when you look at the fact that Two Door Cinema Club hails from Ireland, that is a totally different outlook. A majority of the artists who come from Ireland, are generally very rock oriented and lean more on the heavy side of rock. So to hear such a bright and pop oriented band come from a place where mad guitar riffs are everything, this is such a breath of fresh air. And it is so cool to be able to hear that something so abstract developed into itself when the main influences all point to rock music. I actually listened to Two Door Cinema Club all day, but I kept coming back to this particular song. It is perhaps my favorite from their debut album, and I really hope you guys check them out! Today's instrumental song is from the move Hancock. If you have not seen this movie, I urge you to go and watch it. I don't care how it happens, but this is quite the funny movie. But this score is very different from what I have heard in the past, and from what people normally expect from a movie score. I threw in a little bit of a tropical vibe and the score overall has a little bit of a more eclectic sound base. It doesn't sound like your typical superhero theme, but it also is not a conventional orchestral score. And that is pretty darn cool! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
