The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Ed Sheeran

Today I have some music for you that comes off the soundtrack of a movie I watched recently. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a movie that started out as an independent film, and grew to be a cinematic sensation after its release. I had put off watching that movie for a very long time, for reasons that I can't really explain. Maybe I was too preoccupied or didn't want to risk the chance of crying, or just didn't want to see it because everyone else was watching it. But in the end, I am so glad that I did get see this film. When you watch a trailer for the film, it can come across as one of your run-of-the-mill adolescent movies, the journey of coming of age for kids in high school. Little did I know that this movie is so much more than that. This is a film that has more monsters than Harry Potter ever had. This is a movie that brings up so many of the demons that teenagers face daily. From emotional to physical to mental issues, this movie covers so many different kinds of people. This movie talks about the problems that we see in social settings at school and with friends, and even addresses the illegal nightmares that occur behind closed doors. There are so many horrible situations for one to be in, and this movie has a representative from a majority of those categories. Often times, a character takes on multiple problems to face. Academics, relationships, abusive boyfriends, etc. This movie has at least one character who you can connect with. And that is where the love for this movie begins. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a movie that finally talks about all the things that teenagers have to go through, often times without any help. This is a film that finally addresses the fact that despite what the older generations think, we have it very hard. Emotional issues, health issues, family problems, and pangs of the heart are all sprinkled into the movie. Sprinkled in, but very greatly discussed without us even realizing how important some of these points are to the film as a whole. A lot of coming of age movies like to show a singular issue which gets solved by the end of the film. But this is a movie that is very realistic and representative of what actually happens. It is a reminder that everything falls into place, but can also be shifted around and moved. Not everything has a happy ending, and not everything has a sad ending. Sometimes and ending is just the closing of a chapter. There is so much to take away from the cinematography of the film as well. The way the scenes are shot are so perfect for the movie. They have made it so that this is a film that you can participate in, one that makes you a character in the movie. Each character is complex and dynamic background, which tells me that there is at least one character that you can connect to and understand completely.Finding a movie that not only serves as a great story line, but is also a movie to admire and look up at? That is something that is absolutely magical. Now this song of the day is by the artist known as Arshad. He put this song together, the flow and the music, and it is a song fit for the movie. What I found quite beautiful is the fact that he used quotes from the movie as his lyrics. Very few of these lines are not a part of the movie, and this is something I haven't heard before. I have never heard popular movie quotes be turned into a coherent messaging session while using just those words. I really enjoy the fact that not all of these quotes are the very famous quotes. They are the most emotional and moving quotes for sure. But in a way that is a constant reminder that no matter where they go, they haven't been able to hunt me down. Arshad did such a beautiful job with this song. For the entire song, we have an acoustic guitar making its way through to the team of instruments that make this such an enchanting song. At the end of the last verse and beginning of the final chorus, the guitar and vocals take a step back and focus on getting the percussion and piano to come forward into this amalgamation that I would like to consider a mini orchestra. There are crescendos and surges of scintillating notes, something that leaves the ears mesmerized. I am just so glad that this movie was full of a lot of darkness that finds some sort of light and resolution. In the real world, there is no way that these problems can be solved. And this song, this beautiful and emotive song, is one that shows that despite these dark moments, we can still find hope. The film shows those dark moments, and shows what it is like to love and accept and have friendship and finding family can look like. This is a movie I recommend to everyone to watch. Whether you are a jock or musician or wallflower, this movie has something for all of you. Today's instrumental song is by the lovely Ed Sheeran. I don't know why this song was the first to pop in my head when the movie started. But as well went through it made more sense. This song has slowly gotten popular, But I cannot deny the beauty of this movie and I hope you all can see that as well. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
