Disiz and Drake

Today I have some really great music for you out of France! I am so excited to share this song with you for a few reasons. One, it is a great song. Two, this is a style of music that is highly underrated and honestly not very well known. Three, the artist Disiz is one that is very interesting and has a lot to say about life and society and politics. Four, it is a very catchy song. So let's get started with the breakdown, shall we? So to start off, Disiz is a rapper out of Evry, France. And I love the fact that almost all of his music is rapped in French, because that is something that is not only really awesome sounding, but it also adds a lot more flavor and personality to the song. French is a great language in general to rap in because of this inherent gruffness to the way they speak. A lot of the pronunciations come from the throat, and that gives the song a lot more edge. Disiz has a lot of flair with his rapping as well, and that is something I can really appreciate and enjoy especially since American rap is more about intensity. This song has style and swagger rather than heavy emphasis on the chorus and name dropping. Disiz is a fantastic rapper, and this song is made even better by the actual melody and beats of the song. I won't lie this is quite a catchy. I love the chorus a lot because it just simmers in this idea of walking with swagger. There is an effortless coolness to the way the chorus is done and a nonchalant bad ass-ness to it. I honestly have not been able to get enough of Disiz because his music is such a refreshing take on rap music. There are definitely some sick beats in this song, especially during the refrain. I am actually such a fan of the way the refrain has one note that gets sung out. That is my favorite part of this song! When you hear the refrain at the very beginning, you will hear that in the refrain. The whole song has this consistent beat, but the percussion changes as the song goes on and depending on what part of the song you are in. The chorus has its own melody and the verses each have their own melodies and styles of sound. I think that is pretty cool though! Even though there is only one synth beat line that is the same across the board, everything else is just a little bit different. Disiz is an artist that I encourage you all to go listen to. His music is very diverse when it comes to rap, and none of his songs sound the same. While this song has a little bit of a funky groove to it, there are others on the album that are more sinister and others that are more lively and spry. He is a man of many talents and puts out some really great and mind boggling for a cool part. Anyway, Disiz. Go listen to his music!  Today's instrumental song is by Drake. You can't have a rap day that does not include Drake at some point. Whether it is a part of your blog or you watch a music video or just listen to his music, Drake has a a few songs that would like me enough to want to post them here. Well today, I was hoping to get a chance to post some Drake. It is kind of funny, but sometimes I prefer Drake's instrumental stuff more than I like his actual music. This song has a lot of energy and is the most popular of it's kind, but I thought that I had to post this as a reminder that you can have a lot of intense things happening, but it is okay to stay back and chill out. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
