Audien and Benny Benassi

Today I have some really fun music for you! This song is originally by Coldplay, and was the first single to be dropped from their newest album. But, the catch with this song is that this is a remixed version of the song, and is done by Audien. Now if there is anything to be said about Audien, is that he knows how to make crowd jumping music. I mean this song had me wanting to bounce around and go crazy and jump and dance. This song was already a pretty inspirational and freeing song, but Audien turned it into a spectacular menagerie of color and sound. The thing is, when I listen to this song, I see so many bursts of color and paint and these fantastical frames of doing all the things that make me really feel alive. Which was the original point of the song, and something that Audien preserves so well with this remix. Whether it makes me think about splashing around and running wild on the beach at night, or going crazy at a festival, or dancing the night away in a concert hall with the blue lights flashing all over the place. This is the kind of song that sounds so bright and full of life that you cannot help but feel the same way. Audien has that kind of magical spell, that unique ability to channel all that positivity and greatness into sound waves so that we can fell that and spread it to others. Which for me, is such a beautiful and important part of music. And one of the things about this song is that not only is it fun and vivacious, but it is also just a beautiful remix. Normally, it is hard to call electronic music beautiful, but I think it is safe to say that this is one of those outliers. This is a song that I would gladly call a masterpiece, an obra maestra. Especially the way Audien works the Coldplay parts of the song. He skillfully tweaks and modifies parts of the original song, but does so while keeping the integrity of the original. This song is one of those songs that is about living life to the fullest and making the most of every moment. It is about sharing the wonders of life with someone, and having that person be one of those adventures of life. And Audien so wonderfully captures that sentiment with this remix. Even though the song is sped up and there are a lot more programmed add ins, Audien's contribution to this song is to give a different spin on what this kind of music can sound like. Audien infuses the entire track with this sensation of emotion and soul, with this sense of absolute euphoria which really could fill your head with dreams. This remix is a progression from beautiful and soft piano chords into a song that is worthy of festivals around the world. I wouldn't be surprised to hear this as an anthem for many of the EDM festivals out there this year. This is a shimmering track, one that is a most definite in my summertime jams and feel good songs as well. Audien worked his magic with this and left us with a song that is a stunning reflection of Coldplay's farewell message. Today's instrumental song is one of my absolute favorites by Benny Benassi. I won't lie, it has been an absurdly long time since I posted anything by him, which only means it has been that long since I last listened to Benny Benassi. But, I love this resurgence of music that I am listening to right now, because it reminded me how much I love and miss this song! This has to be one of my favorites by Benny Benassi, and John Legend is such a fantastic addition to the song. A lot of people don't think that John Legend's repertoire includes anything other than soul, blues, and R&B. But now we get to see his secret EDM side! So that is pretty exciting.
