MO and Justin Bieber

Today I have music for you. This is an artist who really took the new year in stride. MO even went as far as to produce a song about the new year. Which I honestly found really cool! I haven't heard many artists sing to bring in the new year. But as usual, MO has created a really catchy and cool song for us. This isn't holiday festive or anything, and she sticks with her normal sound. This song is chill and great for just hanging out and lounging around. MO has a great voice, one that doesn't get you super hyped up but also doesn't get to your feels. I mean this is a song that is supposed to be celebratory song! And MO does a great job of making this a song that us exciting but also something that is more calm and relaxed. While this isn't necessarily a song I would listen to all the time because of what the song pertains to, but it is a song that I definitely would listen to every once in a while. It's just so nice and chill! Today's instrumental song is a version if a very popular song by Justin Bieber. This song is indeed very known, but I wanted to post this song because of how incredible it is and what it represents. See for me, this song and album is representative of how far Justin Bieber has come from the beginning, and how he turned himself around. Today's song is a really cool one out of South Africa by the band Kongos. There are so many awesome things happening in this song. For example the first sounds you hear is this really sick accordion work, and yes, these guys made the accordion look even cooler than any other musician out there has. I love the way they use the accordion and the tone of it. And then you hit the chorus which has these really strong vocals and you get the feel from the multiple voices with these sweet guitar licks and such a loud presence with the electric guitar. This song just kicks some major ass! Today's song is by the Beastie Boys, and is one of my favorite songs by them. Ima Robot and Tame Impala

Today I have a song for you by the band known as Ima Robot. Many of you will recognize this song because it is used in the show Suits. Disclaimer, Suits is a wonderfully fantastic show and I highly recommend you go watch it. Anyway, this song has a really cool and suave feel to it. It has that artsy urban grunge to it which I really like. It is a different way of performing rock music and takes you back to the 90's style of music. This song has a really cool charm to it because a lot of the song falls on the support of the bass guitar over the drums. The bass guitar serves as a secondary percussion to the rest of the instrumentals. It is actually kind of awesome how simple the instruments are in this song because when you bring the together you hear a really sick song. The main instruments are of course the bass guitar, tambourine, drums, and keyboard. Nothing else makes an appearance and I like it that way. The music in this song is so structured but so laid back at the same time.

Zayn Malik and Interstellar

Today I wanted to give a shout out to an artist who is both very famous and very underground. Most people know him as Zayn Malik, that guy who was in One Direction but left the band. So a little background, Zayn Malik was one of the five members of the famous boy band, One Direction. His departure from the band was all over the news last year, and I wont' lie, I felt bad for him. Not because he left the band, but because of what that meant for him in the public eye. It marked him as a huge target for papparzi and press, and I just feel so bad for him because he had to live in that public eye for so long. Which is one of the reasons why he wanted to leave. To live his life more quietly. So that of course, is a consequence of his level of fame. But on the other hand, we have his more quiet and surprising side.
