Thirteen Senses and Merlin

Today I have music for you by the band known as Thirteen Senses. I really like their style because it has a very energetic feel while being a soft-spoken and sounding group. There is a great rhythm and beat to this song. The drum beats are not necessarily faster paced, but syncopated in a way so that they are more pronounced and give the song the constant push of energy it needs. When you take that away, the song has the potential to be a little dry and airy. Now that comes from the way the vocals are. They are more feathery, spending most of the time hanging out in the falsetto range of things. Which isn't bad at all! I think it is pretty darn impressive to hear that falsetto being held for a while. And the accompanying keyboard work is on the lighter, providing long bars of sound rather than another harmony. And again, that is why the drums become so important in this song. They are more of an accompaniment than the keyboard is. While this isn't how most songs are done, I really appreciate and like this more unconventional method. It is different and fun and adds this energy to the song that could be lost otherwise. This group has the perfect sound for whenever I am feeling very creative and artsy, driving down a long road, or just enjoying the world around me. Its one of those songs that make you really feel everything and see everything a little clearer and with a little bit more soul. When I listen to this song, I feel like I am in solitude with a soft colored sky and open hills surrounding me. As you can see, I am quite the imaginative romantic. Today's instrumental song is from the television show Merlin. Not only is this a great show, but the score is absolutely amazing. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
