Eminem & Adele and Salt

Today I have a mashup for you because it has been a ridiculously long time since I put one up. This mashup is of two songs that I absolutely adore. Now who would have thought that Eminem and Adele would make a good duo? I certainly never thought of putting the two artists together, and especially not these songs. I mean both of them have an overlying darkness to them, but they have really different sounds in my opinion. Plus, Eminem is more aggressive and intense, more in your face and intimidating. Adele has a powerful voice, but is more vulnerable and soulful, with a voice that soars. The two artists are so different it is ridiculous! So mad props to the DJ who created this magnificence, DJ Raheem D. There is so much brilliance in the way this song is produced that I can't help but be impressed. The songs meld so well together musically and lyrically in this mashup, which is not an easy feat because of how the songs sound on their own. There is also a really good balance between the songs. A lot of mashups often include the lyrics of one song with the instrumentals of another. But this mashup seamlessly meshes them all together. Adele's lyrics are layered on top of Eminem's beats and they are featured as a "harmonizing" vocal layer. After the first chorus is when we really here the weaving between Eminem's instrumentals and Adele's. I actually love the fact that the drop in the song is provided by the intense moments in Adele's song. The climactic moments are all built up by the orchestral background rather than the beats we get with Eminem's song. And the back and forth between artists leads to this beautiful blending of the two sets of lyrics. I mean this song is just utter genius. There are so many things that make this song so great, and I just had to share it with you because quite frankly, I find it to be mind blowing. A huge round of applause for Raheem D because he nailed this mashup. I mean "knocked it out of the park" good! Today's instrumental song is from the movie Salt. This was a phenomenal movie. It was very action packed and actually had a story line, which is something we love to have in movies but sometimes don't get. This movie had me really engaged, as did the score. There are so many moments of intensity and suspense, which are so wonderfully captured by the score. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
