Troye Sivan and Flume

Today I have some music for you by a guy who started out on YouTube. We all know how big vlogging has gotten these past few years, and a lot of these YouTube personalities have started breaking out of the internet scope in order to expand their influence. Now this YouTuber has expanded in a very interesting way, in the sense that he entered the music world, but did so through the internet. He also started out by singing and posting those videos, and then got into the vlogging trend. Troye Sivan is probably one of my favorite music discoveries of the past couple of years. There are so many amazing things about Troye Sivan and his music that I just had to post his music! Troye Sivan has a very unique sound, one that has started to pick up in popularity, but is also a lesser known genre. I don't really know how to classify his sound, but the closest I would get to is a mix of indie pop, indietronica, and R&B. The beautiful thing about Troye Sivan's voice is that it has this soft richness to it that makes it perfect for more acoustic ballads or moving songs; but it is also simply splendid and pretty much perfect for songs with heavy electronic layering. Every one of Troye Sivan's is a poetic masterpiece. I have not heard lyrics like his in a very long time, and I love the artistic creativity behind them. There is this intricate depth to the words, things that are easy to understand on the surface, but also offer immense meaning. Every one of Troye Sivan's songs has had exceptional production. I mean every beat is perfect, every melody, the mix of synthesizers and keyboards and drums and pianos. I mean the seamless inclusion of so many differing elements, and the ability to have all of these work euphoniously. Well, that is quite the testament to the production team's skills. But again, this also shows why Troye Sivan's voice is absolutely perfect because he can pull off all of these different sounds and auditory territories..This song is something that is completely unique but somewhat familiar, bold and unassuming. Troye Sivan openly explores the deeper and darker parts of human desire and condition. And there is nothing in the world that could make me lose love of that. I mean how many artists today even approach those kinds of topics? Very few. But not only does Troye Sivan mention these dark parts, but he dives into them willingly. He takes on those rougher topics and immerses himself in a way so that he can truly understand without getting lost to it. Of course it helps that a lot of these thoughts and emotions are things he has been through, but I find it almost magical that he does discuss these things. This is definitely one of my favorite songs by Troye Sivan, and the wonderful evolution from classical to electronic is food for the soul. Today's instrumental song is by an artist that I tend to post about a lot. Or maybe I just posted a lot of stuff at one point in time...But anyway, Flume is one DJ you can never go wrong with. I can guarantee that there is at least one song by Flume that people like. Even if you only like one song, Flume has still rode the sound waves into your head. The thing about Flume is that his style is so chill and lounge chill. There is a low sense of energy that keeps the song going, but it is also low enough to not overpower you and make you want to get crazy. Again, the production is just spectacular with the music, and of course the only person I can give credit to is Flume. But I think both artists I have talked about today are definitely worthy of your time. These are musicians who have such high potential and could be the next big thing! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
