Travi$ Scott, Justin Bieber, & Young Thug and Big Sean

Today I have some music from the heavier side of rap music. As in, this song features a good number of rappers, and apparently a now singer turned rapper. That is right, I have some Travis Scott for you, featuring some verses by Young Thug and Justin Bieber. Yeah, that last one is definitely correct. I am going to be totally honest, when I hear this song, I could not tell when Justin Bieber came in until someone pointed it out to me. I can't lie, his voice has definitely matured and it sounds really really good. But why don't we start from the beginning of the song?  Travis Scott definitely does his thing for this song. He is quite the underrated rapper, but this song and album in general has seen some awesome feedback, which makes me hope that people are starting to appreciate his style of music more and more. But I cannot shake the fact that Justin Bieber absolutely slaughtered this song. I mean his verse is so pure and fresh, so completely raw. I mean who would have thought that would come from a singer who has only recently started dabbling in the hip hop world? But if I am to be completely honest, I think Justin Bieber completely killed it and blew Travis Scott out of the water. Which is kind of hard to say considering that this album was written and partially produced by Travis Scott. Sometimes these things happen I guess. But I can't deny the talent that Travis Scott has as a producer. Without the joint collaboration with Justin Bieber though, the song would have a completely different tone. He sings fast and delivers his part with a rapper's intensity and then goes into a seductive and R&B mood towards the end of the song. And that weird collaborative effort is what makes this song what it is. I mean the rest of the song is just a back and forth between Travis Scott and Young Thug. The latter is definitely not here to impress, or if he is, does not really do a good job of that. However, he does have really great chemistry with Travis Scott, which can also make or break a song. They are able to play off each other well and follow a similar style, inter playing really well. In terms of musicality in the song, it features swirling synths and creates this moody kind of atmosphere. There isn't a sense of happiness or positivity, rather favors the more darker emotions that are similar to the moodiness of an ocean. I am honestly a really huge fan of this song, though very different from a lot of the music I have posted before and listened to. Today's instrumental song is by Big Sean. Now this is a rapper that I listen to a lot more. And for good reason. Big Sean has seen a lot of success lately, blowing up the rap and hip hop scene. This song has an R&B beat to it, something that features the snare drum and bass to boost it. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
