Timbaland & Keri Hilson and Akon

Today I have some throwback music, all the way back to the early 2000's. Quite a ways back right? But in all honesty, this song was one of my favorites to dance to. Which seems a little strange considering I was a little bit of a youngin at that time, but I still jammed out to this song all the time on the dance floor. Now what made this song such a dope song for me was the fact that it was this cool mix of R&B and this weirdly electronic sound. I mean it definitely is not EDM. At all. But the main melody of the instrumental background has that keyboard/synthesizer kind of sound. At the time, the song has this weirdly futuristic sound to it. I think what it is, is the fact that this song has such an electropop vibe that is heavily rooted in R&B. Because this song has the energy of an electropop song while maintaining the awesome seductive factor of R&B music. I think this was one of the first songs to really get into the club beat that we hear today. In the past, R&B and club music were pretty exclusive and kind of lived in their own genres. But this song is one of the first ones I heard that broke through those walls and decided to take aspects of a bunch of different genres. Which is spectacular because today, there is a lot more music that falls into an unspecified genre. This song is a lot like the kind of music we hear from artists like Justin Timberlake. Which makes total sense since Timbaland is the producer for pretty much all those kinds of artists. There is this pulsating beat to the song that makes it so completely irresistible and seductive. And this song is the kind of song that gets people onto the dance floor. I attribute that to Timbaland's ability as a producer because his work has gotten me on the dance floor numerous times. But one of the things that makes this song as incredible as it is, comes from the vocals provided by Keri Hilson. She has these plush and rich R&B vocals that fit in and balance so smoothly with the melody. She doesn't let the instrumentation over power her voice, but matches them in terms of seductiveness. I don't know why today was the day I decided to go with sexy music, but this song is a great way to fill my ears with what they want to hear. Timbaland and Keri Hilson really pulled off a great sound to give that dirty flirty kind of feeling to it. This is definitely a song that I would dance with a guy to because it has that really nice provocative sound to it. And what fun is going out to dance if there is not a little provocativity to throw  in? Today's instrumental song is by a rapper who kind of stepped out of the spotlight. Akon used to be my favorite rapper ever. Was I little naive back then? Perhaps. But no one can deny Akon's ability as an artist. Talk about a guy who knows how to put out those bedroom anthems. Akon can rap and sing, and does so in that classic R&B way. So of course, I love it! So if you have any plans tonight regarding the bedroom, here are two songs you can add to that sexy time playlist! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
