Jason Aldean and 300
Today I have some music from a genre we haven't seen lately on this blog. It has been a strangely long time since I have posted anything country, so today seemed like the kind of day to put on cowboy boots and strut that guitar. This song is by one of the biggest voices in the country music world. Jason Aldean is a rather popular artist from this realm of music because of his versatility. The thing with being a country singer is that it is often hard to cover multiple styles of sound. For example, if a country artist normally sings faster paced songs, it is generally because that is what they are best at. Now Jason Aldean is a little bit of an outlier because he kind of delves into different styles with his country music. This song is a great representation of the edgier side of country, something that Jason Aldean has mastery over. He has a heavier and slightly gruff voice which makes it absolutely perfect for this hard hitting country song. Now what makes this song that much more intense is the inclusion of the electric guitar and the riffs. Normally country music features acoustic guitar sets, but this one makes full use of the power behind electric guitars. That kind of hard hitting feel, coupled with the lyrics of the song, make this a great one to strut around to. What is cool about the lyrics is that each verse describes a different variation of a "country" girl, but then they all tie together in the chorus. Which I thought was pretty neat because it is diversity with a plot twist of underlying sameness. This is the kind of song that is anthemic to so many cowgirl-esque figures and those who identify with the country way of living. But I digress. This is a very energetic song and is one that many people have heard before. With the deep voice of Jason Aldean, the pounding percussion, and the highly emphasized electric guitar, this is a tune you won't forget. Today's instrumental song comes from the movie 300. Which seems to have no correlation, but what is great about this score is that it incorporates so many modern instruments. Namely the electric guitar, but still. This is a more fresh and different kind of sound for a movie. The standard orchestra has not been forgotten, but has taken a little bit of a step back to make room for more rock band instruments. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
