Enrique Iglesias & Sunidhi Chauhan and Prince Of Persia

Today's song of the day is a blend of cultures-Spanish and Indian. For those of you who do not know Enrique Iglesias, he is a global star from Spain who was many famous songs recorded in both Spanish and English. I realize that in the past I didn't do a great job of really introducing him because I did not find it necessary. Until a couple of days ago when I met someone who had never heard of Enrique Iglesias. It was quite an experience and a great reminder that not everyone follows the same train of music or follow the popular tunes as much as I thought. But anyway, this song was written by Enrique Iglesias, and that being said, we get a little bit of his sexy lyrical content. The thing with Enrique Iglesias is that his older songs are subtly seductive. He doesn't necessarily say things outright, but we can clearly infer what he is trying to say. And in some ways, that makes it even more dirty and sexy. Which I won't complain about! Enrique Iglesias has a smooth and soft voice that tends to reach the higher end of the male vocal scale. Because of that, it is easier to throw in some R&B like he does in this song. And then he brings out a little bit of that gravel tone where it is necessary and turns this into something irresistible. Enrique Iglesias has the awesome ability to switch between sounding rough and then coming to this flowing and soothing vocalization. To be quite frank, that does not seem like an easy feat, and yet, he makes it seem effortless. Now with this song, we get to hear from a special guest. Sunidhi Chauhan is a very popular and very famous Bollywood/Indian singer. A lot of my favorite songs feature her in it, which makes me more biased to loving her vocalizations. But her voice is very strong and powerful, and can also be soft and smooth. Her voice and Enrique's blend so well together because of that, and they harmonize so incredibly well! That capability to effortlessly harmonize is something that I have to commend Indian entertainment for. Many songs feature male and female vocals, so harmonizing is something that has become such a norm in the music world. I think that contrast between the way Enrique Iglesias and Sunidhi Chauhan sing at different points in the song beautifully illustrate what it is to be in a heartfelt and committed relationship. This is a very underrated collaboration, but is also something I really hope to see more of.  The instrumental song of the day is going to appeal to those of you who are ready for an adventure and some excitement. It comes from the Prince of Persia soundtrack and sounds like the beginning steps of an amazing journey that you will never forget. I don't know if it will resonate with anyone else, but I know for sure that there was a point when I would listen to songs like this because I wanted to go somewhere exciting and foreign so badly. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
