Macklemore & Ryan Lewis & Ed Sheeran and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Today I have music for you by one of my favorite rappers of all time. Macklemore seems to get little credit for his ability to create music that is inspiring and wonderful. This song has a beautiful back story to it, one that you can read on Macklemore's website. But the gist of the story has to do with Macklemore realizing the truth of fatherhood. How it comes suddenly, and is a roller coaster of emotions until the day the baby arrives. This song is about what he wants his daughter to remember as she is growing. And it is a constant reminder to us of what we should keep in mind and remember to do. This song has some of the greatest lyrics I have heard from a rapper. And that makes me so happy and proud to be able to hear an artist forego the normal topics of rap and take on things that really matter. Very few artists do that nowadays and it is so heart warming to see. And of course, this song is just a brilliant masterpiece. The lyrics of course give this song so much depth. But the added addition of Ed Sheeran just put the cherry on top. Ed Sheeran has the perfect voice to pull off this song. And as someone who had it rough growing up, and had a hard time finding himself amongst the decisions he made, it makes me believe the words he sings. Macklemore and Ed Sheeran sing from their hearts, and they sing about the real world. They write songs from a relatable point of view and always keep it real. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have been on a bit of a hiatus, so for them to come back with a song like this is absolutely wonderful. Ryan Lewis actually composed the beats and music for this song before Macklemore had lyrics, and it just clicked. That is the thing I love about those two. They have such a strong connection, a real bond. This song is so wonderfully done, and I cannot express how much I love the words in this song. Macklemore talks about being selfless, living life to its full potential, making good decisions, and experiencing the world's wonders. Now to the musicality of the song, the chorus is especially cool because it has a wonderful gospel sound, which works so incredibly well with Ed Sheeran's voice. And the way the choir echoes Ed Sheeran is so magnificent. This song also features the standard horn section that accompanies every Macklemore and Ryan Lewis song. This is the best comeback song I have ever heard, and I am so glad that it is about the music and not the money that could be made. I love Macklemore and Ryan Lewis! Today's instrumental song is from the movie, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I started watching it, and it is quite the interesting movie for sure. I do enjoy it! But this score has a very cool and soothing sound to it, and seemed like a wonderful compliment. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
