CL & Diplo and Chennai Express

Today I have some newer music for you. Now what makes this song one of the coolest things to come out recently is that it features one of Korea's biggest artists, and one of the most worldwide known artists-Diplo. CL is possibly the biggest female star in Korea, if not the biggest star they have. She has done some incredible work in her tenure with the Korean music industry, and definitely destroys all stereotypes associated with K-Pop. To be quite honest, she is basically the Nicki Minaj of Korean music. She has this incredible intensity to her entire persona. The way she looks, dresses, the style of music she produces, and the fact that she is a rapper. There is a wonderful amount of swag and bad assery surrounding CL, which is only heightened by the fact that she is a pretty awesome rapper. This is part of CL's US debut, and just overall Western debut. And when you consider the kind of music that is starting to get really big and more popular lately, this seems like the best way to go. CL and Diplo have worked on music together before, and Diplo's renowned name will only help CL in the long run. But as collaborators, I think this is some of the sickest stuff I have heard all year! This is a song that incorporates the best of CL and the original production style that Diplo has. Even though he started out as a more moombahton producer, Diplo's work is definitely characterized by this sense of intense energy. And CL just so happens to be an intense artist on another side of the scale. So this worked out fabulously! One of the things that I really do like and admire about CL is that she has a very unique way of rapping. With Diplo, it is easier to get his work mixed in with other DJ's. But there is something unmistakably recognizable about CL's rapping style. She ditches the stereotypical way of rapping and the more popular way of rapping for her own style. She pronounces the words in her own unique way, has a cadence that is completely original, and foregoes the style of rap that is considered "black." A lot of artists from all over the world really like to take that version of rap and make that their thing, but CL opts for a sound that defines her. And that is one of the coolest things ever! I am super excited for CL's debut here in the States, and I know for a fact I will totally be supporting her and her music. Today's instrumental song is from a pretty popular and recent Bollywood movie. I am going to be totally honest, I have no idea why the first song reminded me of this one. Really, I have no explanation. Maybe it is the way they sound or the kind of vibe the songs have, but if you want a good answer, I don't have one. But this is a pretty good song and a very popular one. This is the kind of song that you will hear on any Bollywood dance floor, so that makes things a little exciting! Changing the game just a bit. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
