Today I have a pretty chilled out song for you all by a duo known as Jupiter Rising. This song has a really good balance between an electronic feel and a calmer, more chill vibe. This song is actually more of an ambient style which creates a certain atmosphere to it. This song also uses a lot of synth, from a synth beat to using synthesizing keyboards. What is nice about this song is that it has a good energy to it, but lacks the high intensity of traditional electronic music. The vocals compliment each other very well, a mellow and deep male voice complimented by a higher pitched and soothing female voice. It has that feel of being something you would hear in trendy clothing stores or catwalk kind of thing. It just has that feel good vibe to it. This song in general is a really good one, and is a song that I have no trouble listening to at anytime of the day. Today's instrumental song is by a really good electronic group called Thievery Corporation. This song has that very mellow drum beat and just an overall calming feel. This song is definitely what I would call chillstep. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
NF and Fight Club
Today I though I would get the ball rolling with some music by the artist known as NF. This is a guy who is a crazy sick rapper. I mean absolutely incredible. The style of rap in this song is one of my favorites. It is this syncopated but fast style of rapping, one that allows rappers to spit rhymes out and get in as much lyrical content as possible. Now I really love this style for two reasons. One, being able to hear the words and verses that the rapper writes is amazing. More often than not, songs like this have some sort of powerful meaning, and this song is definitely one of those. This is a song that talks about the music industry in general, about how music has changed and become a source of profit instead of art. Which is something that I can agree with, and the way this whole song is worded is absolutely fantastic. The second reason I love this style, is because there is an inherent and effortless bad-ass sound to the cadence of the rap. He is dropping rhymes as fast as he can...
