Arijit Singh and The Princess Bride

Today I have some Indian music for you, especially since it has been a while since I have posted anything foreign. This is one of my absolute favorite songs, and in one of the best new releases of the year. Now, this is not your typical dance style Bollywood song, nor is it the kind of song that makes you want to cry. This is a special kind of song, one that Bollywood seems to have gotten down to an art form. This is the kind of song that makes your heart soar, the kind of song that makes you think of the person you hold most dear to your heart. This is the kind of song that makes you want to smile uncontrollably because you can't stop thinking about all the happy and wonderful and incredible times you have had with your significant other. This is a song that boasts those warm feelings, the kind that make you feel free and liberated, but also grounded and secure. This song is just so mind blowingly beautiful. Think of the happiest, the greatest day of your life. This song is one that can describe that. Everything about this song is so perfectly put together. The lyrics are absolutely wonderful and sweet and loving. They talk about the love shared between two people, that everything your significant other does makes your heart go crazy. But in the wild beating of your heart, the only thing it is saying is the name of the one you love. The lyrics are just so sweet and an expression of a special kind of love and affection felt towards someone. The musical background is also an enchanting compliment to the lyrics. This song uses a lot of traditional Indian motifs while also holding a lot of modern ones. This song utilizes the guitar quite a bit. It gives the song that springtime warmth, that fresh feeling of open skies and green grass. There are segments in this song that really use those Indian themes, but it works so well in transition from the acoustic sounds to those more traditional sounds. And then we get to the actual vocals. Arijit Singh is hands down one of my favorite singers. He does an amazing job in this song. He doesn't simply perform the song; he lives, breathes, and immerses himself in the meaning of the song. When you hear the song, even if you don't understand the words, you understand the complete devotion and love in his voice. He has this calming and full and deep voice that makes you feel so tranquil mentally but so full emotionally and in your soul. It isn't easy to find voices and songs that do that, but this song is one of the most magical things I have heard. Today's instrumental song is from the movie The Princess Bride. This movie is a classic, one that a large part of society has seen and holds dear. The score is quite nice for this movie, and I really liked this piece because of the soothing effect the guitar has. It is a lovely piece, one that makes you really envision that fairytale-esque scene. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
