Sound Remedy and The Glitch Mob

Today's song of the day is actually not an original, but a remix. Sound Remedy has done a remix of a song by Ellie Goulding. My sister actually showed me this song, and I have to say, I am glad she did! This song has the typical style elements of Ellie Goulding's voice and music, but also smoothly meshes with the electro/house style. You can definitely tell where the drop is....the beginning also kind of sounds like Florence and the Machine....but honestly this is a pretty good song! Today's instrumental song is by The Glitch Mob. This song has fluctuating drum beats which I think is so amazing. At times it will be on the beat and other times it is the most awkward places! This song has good energy and great vocals! This song is more subdued than usual dance music but it still has a bumping beat. This song is kind of cool because it addresses a huge problem in youth society today. Bullying seems to encompass a lot of adolescent life and this song is kind of an anti bullying message. But the way that tyDi goes about it is really cool. This song definitely has this really nice chill undertone to it. It sounds like something that would belong to an underground club or music scene. There are some darker undertones to it, and even a little bit of psychedelic undertones. Felix Cartal and Wolfgang Gartner

Today I have music for you by the DJ known as Felix Cartal. I love the way this song sounds because it has a really good beat and the hook melody is extremely catchy. The drops are on point and the rhythm is one that you can have fun with, dancing or just kind of going crazy. I think these vocals are actually perfect for this song and I love how there is a point when they throw the beat down on a piano. I absolutely love the buildups in this song. They are long enough to create intensity but too long to where you get bored of it. This is a very well put together song in my opinion. Today's instrumental song is by the talented Wolfgang Gartner. This song is pretty interesting because it has a pretty intense feel to it. It almost sounds like something that would be used in a fight scene, and when I say this for some reason my mind automatically goes to Teen Wolf....Anyway, I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Willie Nelson and The Assassination of Jesse James

Today I have a cover of an incredibly famous song by another extremely famous artist. Willie Nelson has done a very beautiful rendition of one of Coldplay's best songs. This song was done for the movie The Judge, and it fits splendidly with the entire mood and tone and essence of the movie. What I love about this cover is that it sounds absolutely nothing like the original song. Willie Nelson is able to convey that same sentiment in a way that is completely different from the way the original song was done. This version has more of a country tone to it, but there is something more folk to this song. I think that is what makes this song so beautiful. The fact that is folk and has that warmth of perceived 1800s ranch homes. It has that warmth that comes with summer nights in the prairie, that beauty of the wide open space.
