The Script and The Piano

Today I have some music for you off the newest album by The Script. This album is just to damn good to let it go unnoticed. A lot of people have heard of The Script, but keep themselves limited to whichever songs come on the radio. But if you do that with The Script, you end up missing out on some of the most beautiful and powerful and greatest songs. This song off their new album is the most emotionally moving and touching song. This is a song that you can feel throughout your whole being. I love how this song is kept simple up until we get closer to the end. This song is based on the piano and the drums, but that is pretty much it. I love how dark but lovely this song is, and how incredibly impactful the lyrics are. The Script is a band that really knows how to use metaphors and imagery and comparisons that makes us immediately understand what they mean. I mean the title itself is a metaphor for what is really being talked about in the song. The lyrics that The Script writes never fail to impress me and make me truly understand what they want us to know, It takes a lot for a band to write songs like that, but The Script does so with ease and time and time again. This is a song about being strong and fighting on and feeling vulnerable but willing to wait for the signs to come to you. That meaning, that is something that you really are able to feel and recognize when listening to this song. The beginning of the song takes on this melancholy suspense with the piano taking complete control of the song. When Danny O'Donoghue opens his mouth to sing, the song just flows with energy. He sings with so much passion and feeling and that makes us feel what he feels. In this song he uses a little bit more of his rasp which sounds absolutely beautiful. The background has a little bit of orchestral work and this low singing choir. Both of these elements help build up the song a little bit, but also contrast with Danny O'Donoghue's voice so that both of them stand out. The chorus in this song speaks to me so strongly and I love that this song has that emotional intensity. It seems to me like The Script poured their heart and soul into this. There is this authenticity and complete honesty with this song and the rest of the album. This song and album are so intense but still flow smoothly, with melodies that are vivid and infectious and completely alive. This album has that specific kind of magic that only The Script could create and this song is one of the most important parts to the magic. Today's instrumental song is from the movie The Piano. I have not seen this movie but I have heard the score for it and found it to be captivating. This score obviously chose the piano as the primary instrument, but there is still so much more to these songs than you would think. This song is full of darkness and light, juxtaposed together to create a weaving masterpiece. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
