The Afters and Instrumental Core

Today I have some music by a band called The Afters. Now it has been an extremely long time since I have posted a song by this band. And it is actually a shame that it has taken this long for me to put up another one of the incredible songs by The Afters. But, they did release a new album and it is absolutely phenomenal! The song I am posting today was actually used to open and present The Golden Globes on television. That is pretty darn awesome in my opinion. I think it is a little ironic that most people have no idea who The Afters are, yet their music is used for some of the biggest televised events of the year. Another one of their songs was used as the theme for The Biggest Loser a couple years back. Anyway, onto the actual song. This is off their new album, and I have to say, this is one of my favorite tracks. What is great about The Afters is that they have some of the greatest and most inspirational songs. The lyrics in this song are so applicable to every one of us. We all live for the great moments in life no matter how big or small those moments may be. This song is so powerful and even moving due to the utter inspiration and awakening to the cherishing of sweet moments. The Afters are technically considered a Christian band, and I wouldn't disagree. But the thing about The Afters is that they write songs you can relate to regardless of religion or lack thereof. Their songs don't call out to a certain God, but calls out to humanity and the best that we can be. And that is what I love and admire about The Afters. I had the opportunity to see them perform live and I can tell you that they mean every word that is written and sung. They sing with so much passion and love and feeling and it is the greatest thing in the world. Even in this recording, you can feel the warmth and joy and devotion to life itself and living the best life we can. They celebrate the human experience, the greatest experience. The lyrics are performed so well by the lead singer and I am a huge fan of his voice. By the way, he sounds that good live. The Afters actually took a little step in a different musical direction with this one. There is a little bit more of a background choral to this song than their other ones. But we do get the full effect of the incredible instrumentation and layered harmonies. This is not only a full band experience, but an expression of what it is to be human. Today's instrumental song is by Instrumental Core and has been used in the video gaming world. Despite what many people think, video games have incredible scores to go along with the actual game. Honestly I think it is the music that gives half the excitement to the game. But this one has this deep thrum and power that resonates throughout the song. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
