James Bay and Spirit: Stallion Of The Cimarron

Today I have music for you by a younger singer who has an incredible mature voice and musicality about him. James Bay has a lovely voice that is something soothing and moving. This song has such a great soft sound to it, but it isn't extremely gentle. This song has ups and downs between something more mellow and something with an autumn day kind of feel. James Bay is an artist who knows how to change the direction of a song with his voice. That seems to be the primary force, supported by an extremely strong instrumental background. This song is so great because it is almost like we are hearing an unleashing of James Bay's voice, despite the title of the song. This is a melody that is hard to shake off and the way the chorals swoop in and create this deep and far reaching sound. There is so much passion and sincerity in this song and we can hear that as soon as James Bay opens his mouth. I think one of the greatest things about James Bay is that there is no doubt that he is just as good live as in recordings. This man knows how to sing and does so in such an inspiring and uplifting and weirdly warming way. James Bay is another artist whose soul seems to be filled with authenticity and this rich age. He has that old folk and soul to his voice that is just so incredible, especially since this kind of folk is slightly different from the music of George Ezra. Although, if these two decided to duet I would be completely sold. This song has this lively energy and infectious chorus that keeps this song in your head long after. It is kind of cool how the song starts out slower and calmer, but has this perpetual buildup. And when we reach the top, it is an explosion of incredible gospel harmonies and spine-tingling vocal layering. James Bay has this way of arranging music to fit what he wants to hear, and what we both seem to hear is absolutely phenomenal. I think this song is a testament and reminder to the raw talent that people have and the great ability that James Bay has a singer, songwriter, and musician. Today's instrumental song is from the movie Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. This movie is actually one of my all time favorite animated movies. Everything about this movie is incredible. The cast was great, the writing was hilarious and riveting, the animation captivating, and the score, emphatic. Like all music, this score has something that makes us all connect to the music. But this score does more than that. This score is so beautifully done and sings with freedom, soars high towards the clouds, and still remains grounded to the Earth. This is a score that makes me stop and just listen. This is something inspirational and beautiful and fantastic. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
