Michael Buble and A Charlie Brown Christmas

Today, I hope you are all excited because I have some amazingly wonderful Christmas music for you! Yay! Today marks five days before Christmas, and I wanted to do something like a buildup to the fantastic holiday. Now with Christmas, there are so many ways in which people observe the holiday, understand the holiday, and celebrate it. So, with these next five days I am going to bring you music which explores the different kinds of Christmas that are seen. Today, I have the very romanticized view of Christmas. This is what everyone expects or wants out of Christmas. The roaring fire, cozy living room, hot chocolate, and a soft snowfall outside onto a blanket of puffy and cloudy white snow. This is truly about creating that Winter Wonderland and all the warm feelings that are associated with Christmas. Michael Buble has one of the most wonderful Christmas albums of all time, and this song is off that album. What makes Michael Buble's renditions so incredible phenomenal is that he keeps the integrity and age of the song while also adding his own spin to it. With this song especially, we can hear the beautiful and more traditoinal swing sound that accompanies this song. To me, all Christmas music should follow this swing and big band style, espeically when it is slower like this song. There is something that is classic about the way traditional pop sounds and it is perfect for how classic of a holiday Christmas is. For a holiday like this, with the beautiful landscapes all around and that settling sense of calm and peace, slow swing is the perfect compliment. Michael Buble keeps that older swing style for this song and sings it in that very traditional pop and Sinatra way. Seeing as how the original was written in the early 1940's, you can really hear that romantic swing sound. Michael Buble's voice is dripping with that special holiday spirit and that sense of peace. Only he could do a rendition of this famous song and knock it out of the park. This is actually one of my favorite versions, only second to the Frank Sinatra version. Michael Buble keeps that original 40's feel and that makes this song more endearing and charming. Today's instrumental song is from A Charlie Brown Christmas. The composer for this score, Vince Guaraldi is an absolute genius. Every theme for the Charlie Brown movies has been perfect. They all have this jazzy twist to the holiday theme, something you would hear in a coffee shop or fancy hotel. They all have that classic jazz piano and soft percussion and that makes the themes even better. Somehow, it fits so well with the way Charlie Brown movies are done. This Christmas theme in particular is extremely jazzy and features a beautiful piano solo and melody. You can distinctly hear that jazz sound with the way the piano seems to improvise and the way the percussion is working. This jazzy feel is perfect not only for Christmas, but for the entirety of the holiday season. It is something that could be used to listen to on a daily basis or for a holiday party. Either way, it seems to fit the occasion. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
