Kanye West & M83 and The Dark Knight Rises

Today I have a really sick mashup for you. This features the incredible rap talent provided by Kanye West and the phenomenal instrumentation of M83. Normally I would say a combination like this would be alright, nothing too exciting or new in comparison with a lot of music today. But this mashup really blew me away! It is so well done and each pieces is perfectly layered so that M83 track serves as the base to Kanye West's rap. For the most part, you can't really go wrong with music like Kanye West's. He is a very talented rapper despite the nonsense he pulls when he is out and about. I won't deny, I am more impressed with his older music, like this song, but in general, you can tell that Kanye West is a rapper who really knows what he is doing. Not only does he write really good rhymes, he also knows how to produce really catchy songs. That ability is what makes this song work. Yes you can play with song speed and things like that, but even if you that, there is a certain energy that is retained in the song. The energy that Kanye West has in his song matches very well with this song by M83. This is M83's most popular song which does not bother me in the slightest because, hey, it is a wicked song! M83 has a way with making instrumentals that cannot be compared to anyone else. Every song has an emotion of some kind, a tone, and ambient sound, and something that won't leave your head. Whether it is the tune itself that sticks in your head or the way the song makes you feel, it is very hard to forget the sound that is M83. With this mashup, we don't get the atmospheric vocals that accompany the song, however, we do get the layers of keys and the large thrum of the drums. The use of M83 as the background for the song makes the song as a whole retain this transcendent energy that is infectious and ensnaring. Kanye West provides awesome rap lyrics which is always a bonus. We also get the snare drum work from the Kanye West song in this mashup. The way the songs are slowed down so they fit with one another is simply perfect. Everything synced up incredibly well. This mashup is one that really impressed me and has now become part of many of my playlists. Today's instrumental song is from the movie The Dark Knight. This movie has one of the greatest scores ever. In fact, the entire franchise has an incredible soundtrack and this is no exception. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
