Hunter Hunted and The Odd Life of Timothy Green

Today's song is by a newer group out on the scene called Hunter Hunted. I really like their style because it is an indie sound and feel, but it is different. You can hear that difference which makes this duo so intriguing. I love the positive feel this group has and this song is general. This is a song that I wouldn't be surprised to see as the summer anthem for 2014, or as an anthem for anything really! Some people think it would also be perfect for the FIFA soundtrack. This song in particular by them is really fun and has this amazing drum beat that is like the heartbeat of the song. It literally thrums with power though it remains slightly subtle. I have to say, I really love the fact that the drums take a huge step towards the forefront. This song also uses the synths and guitar in a great way. But the bass guitar stands out to me because it is the instrument which has the capability to change the tone of the song. In the chorus, especially the last time, you can really hear how the bass guitar creates a specific tone. It changes notes from a whole step to a half step to give us this specific sound and feeling. When I hear this song I think of a somewhat stereotypical scene from a coming of age movie. I imagine myself with some friends driving in the summer on the cliffs above a beach with the wind blowing in my hair and the sun setting. It is a super cliche scene but it captures the feeling of the song in an instant. Obviously this song evokes different images from different people, but the feeling that each image gives us is the same. It has this lightheartedness to it which fills your soul. This song has a subdues brightness, like the setting sun, and has this really warm feeling to it. There is this sense of pent up energy throughout the song but it is more of excitement rather than nervous or pushy energy. This song has this all around good feeling to it and Hunter Hunted has really really impressed me with their music. Today's instrumental song is from the movie The Odd Life of Timothy Green. This score is the most perfect compliment to the first song. This song also has a really nice focus on the drums and different kind of percussion. What I love about this song is the carefree, lighthearted, and free sound of the song. You really do feel so completely free as if everything else bad in the world has melted away. You are free to roam under the treetops with the sun streaming through the leaves. You are free to walk on the beach and have the waves crash up on your legs. You are free to truly immerse yourself in the natural world around you and soothe yourself with the things that make you feel good. This song really does make me feel so content at heart and totally and completely free. It is music like this that I really take to heart because in a world that is always on the go, this makes me stop and smell the roses. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
