Graffiti6 and The Temper Trap
For today's song, I have music from a band out of London called Graffiti6. Now what I find so amazing about this song is the use of a groove bass and an off-beat guitar. The vocals in the song are also clearly heard but have a muffled or fuzzy sound to it. Graffiti6 has this incredible unique way of blending soul and folk that I find so entrancing. This song is a feel good song that I can listen to a lot and it is a band that I can listen to for a really long time. It is kind of a shame that this band is so low key because they are so talented at what they do. From the lyrical masterpieces to the thrum of the instruments, you can't help but recognize the great sound Graffiti6 provides. I am such a fhuge fan of the vocalist of this band because he has an absolutely incredible voice. Jamie Scott has one of the most unique voices I have ever heard. His range falls into the upper register, but this allows him to do amazing things with his voice. He has a very powerful falsetto as well and can reach some really high notes with his voice. He even has this little R&B sound happening with his voice similar to the way Justin Timberlake does. Jamie Scott is half the reason that Graffiti6 is such a love for me. The other part would be on behalf of the project itself, for creating some groovy and unique tunes that you can't help but find super catchy. A lot of Graffit6's music takes on influence from a funkier age of music ad this band really pulls off that funk. When you listen to Graffiti6, you can really hear how it has been influenced by funk and especially the synth use to make it a little bit bumpier. This is a band worth looking into deeply. Today's instrumental song is an instrumental version of a song by the Temper Trap. This band has a similar vibe but a different style of music which I find very intriguing. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
