Cro and The Man With The Golden Gun

Today I have some music for you by the German rapper known as Cro. I love the way he raps and the style he has. There is something so suave and smooth about his music and his ability. I posted a song by him a little while ago and I might still be very in love with that song. This song is a more R&B side of Cro which is still so catchy. I think one of the things that makes his music so catchy is that he does throw some jazzy flairs into his music which a lot of rappers do not do. He goes beyond just using the saxophone for a cool twist to the song and includes some string work and more brass instruments. This adds a little bit more of a sexy feel to the song but it also adds this James Bond style of charm to his music which I really love. I don't understand any of the words that are said in this song because sadly I do not speak German. The only part that I do understand is the chorus so I think I might be able to glean a meaning off the chorus but it is still a little bit sketch. Just in general, this song is really smooth and has a great beat to it. I like this song a lot and am still trying to listen deeper into the world of Cro. Today's instrumental song is from the James Bond enterprise. This song is the title theme for The Man With The Golden Gun. This movie was a pretty good one! A little unbelievable at times, but still good nonetheless. The James Bond themes all have this jazzy feel to it and really use the big band idea well. Another attribute to the suave charm that encompasses James Bond in my opinion. This song has that same kind of charm to it while also providing a good premise for the movie itself. Today's song is a really cool one out of South Africa by the band Kongos. There are so many awesome things happening in this song. For example the first sounds you hear is this really sick accordion work, and yes, these guys made the accordion look even cooler than any other musician out there has. I love the way they use the accordion and the tone of it. And then you hit the chorus which has these really strong vocals and you get the feel from the multiple voices with these sweet guitar licks and such a loud presence with the electric guitar. This song just kicks some major ass! Today's song is by the Beastie Boys, and is one of my favorite songs by them. Ima Robot and Tame Impala

Today I have a song for you by the band known as Ima Robot. Many of you will recognize this song because it is used in the show Suits. Disclaimer, Suits is a wonderfully fantastic show and I highly recommend you go watch it. Anyway, this song has a really cool and suave feel to it. It has that artsy urban grunge to it which I really like. It is a different way of performing rock music and takes you back to the 90's style of music. This song has a really cool charm to it because a lot of the song falls on the support of the bass guitar over the drums. The bass guitar serves as a secondary percussion to the rest of the instrumentals. It is actually kind of awesome how simple the instruments are in this song because when you bring the together you hear a really sick song. The main instruments are of course the bass guitar, tambourine, drums, and keyboard. Nothing else makes an appearance and I like it that way. The music in this song is so structured but so laid back at the same time.

Zayn Malik and Interstellar

Today I wanted to give a shout out to an artist who is both very famous and very underground. Most people know him as Zayn Malik, that guy who was in One Direction but left the band. So a little background, Zayn Malik was one of the five members of the famous boy band, One Direction. His departure from the band was all over the news last year, and I wont' lie, I felt bad for him. Not because he left the band, but because of what that meant for him in the public eye. It marked him as a huge target for papparzi and press, and I just feel so bad for him because he had to live in that public eye for so long. Which is one of the reasons why he wanted to leave. To live his life more quietly. So that of course, is a consequence of his level of fame. But on the other hand, we have his more quiet and surprising side.
