Mat Kearney and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

Today I have music for you by the great singer Mat Kearney. I have posted some songs by him in the past, and if this is your first time hearing his voice, my you are in for a wonderful listen. Mat Kearney has voice that can melt your heart and make you feel so good. His voice is one that is soothing and energizing and settling all at the same time. The only other voice I can compare him to is Chris Martin. I have yet to hear a song by him that I don't like. His music is so special because he writes every word and composes every song. His style of music is also very unique. It is very much like the solo male vocalists you hear, but it is also very different. Mat Kearney loves to use percussion in his songs. Almost every song has a really cool percussion beat and just cool percussion in general! This song is very drum beat heavy and it also uses the piano beautifully. The opening is really nice with the piano because it gives the song a little bit more of a lighthearted sound. I think this is very clever and necessary because the lyrics in this song are rather sad and a little dark. But the melodies and the chorus bring this vivacity to the song which makes it sound like subliminal inspiration. After all the bad things that Mat Kearney sings about in this song, there is the happier chorus to bring an uplifting sound to the song. There is one thing though that really stands out in his songs and is something that hasn't been heard on the radio in a very long time. Mat Kearney sings with so much passion. When he sings, he sings his feelings and thoughts and life to us. He genuinely sings for the love of singing and expressing himself. That passion and that love of music is heard even in the recorded works. Not only does he sing with passion but he also plays his guitar in the same manner. It seems like more of an extension of himself than an instrumentalist doing what he does best. This song in particular has a softer edge of guitar than his other songs, but you can still tell that he enjoys playing his instrument. I highly recommend you all check out his music because it is like nothing you have ever heard. There are artists who fall into the same genre and category, but none of them can match up exactly with Mat Kearney. I absolutely love him and I love his music so very much. There is comedy and drama and a real story line that really gets to all of us. From the wild world of our own imagination to the wonderful reality of the world we live in, this movie speaks to us on all levels of being and living. The music score for this movie was so perfect and I would not have wanted anything less. It captures the ideas of the movies and the themes very well and is simply beautiful.
