Clean Bandit and Ellie Goulding

Today I have music for you by the British electronic group known as Clean Bandit. This song was kind of popular for a slight while, but it didn't get too popular to where the radio killed the song. I really like the way the they use string instruments for a large part of the song. The main string instrument they use is the fiddle which actually sounds phenomenal with the electronic beats and synths. This song also features the piano which also sounds awesome with the electronic music. This song has a very good balance of electronic and actual instrumentation which is really good. There aren't usually songs like this out right now, most of the electronic music featuring a singer and a bunch of musical programming. However, this song was really good at maintaining that balance and also factoring in the vocals. Clean Bandit opens the song with a really nice violin solo and then brings in the keyboard melody. This gives way to just the vocals and synth sounds. These sound almost like video game noises which is normally quite annoying, but it works very well in this song. This song has really flawless layering of melodies and harmonies, and this gives the song a really unique. There is a great slow bass that is accompanied by the video game blips and soulful vocals. When everything is layered together, we get a chorus that is very catchy but not overly electronic based. They don't over elaborate the chorus and make it more energetic than it needs to be. If they made the song even more energetic or added more electronic elements, the song would lose the jovial and soulful nature that it has. The melody is one that is catchy enough to remain in your head for a long time and is also one that you won't get tired of listening to. This classical crossover is one that really stands out because it does have a distinctly different sound. A lot of the classical and electronic combos are done by artists such as Tiesto, and even those have a heavier focus on the electronic side of things. But what this band does very well is make this a song that showcases the orchestral ability of the artists and the orchestral capabilities of an electronic song. This fresh song is one that should be blowing up a little bit more because it is so new to this generation of music and is something that a large audience can enjoy. The infectious melodies and great vocals make for a song that is catchy and energizing. Today's instrumental song is a version of a song by Ellie Goulding. Elements of the first song reminded me of the melody themes and motifs of this song. While the first song is not as popular, this one is wildly popular and showcases a different style of singing and vocals. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
