Jason Mraz and August Rush

Today I have some music for you by one of my favorite artists ever, Jason Mraz. This is a man who really knows how to sing and perform. This song that I am posting today is a live version of one of his lesser known songs. To be completely honest, I love this version way more than the original. From the beginning you can hear the genius and talent behind his music. Jason Mraz is one of the best songwriters I have had the pleasure to hear in a very long time. The way he performs is so incredible because he dose so with so much enthusiasm and passion and deft skill. He sings so articulately and precisely so that we can understand what he is saying even when he gets into the slightly rap style. There are so many phenomenal things that happen in this song and every other song that he has produced. Jason Mraz has a voice that can whisk you away and really get you attuned to the music. He has these little hilts and jilts when he sings and a lot of the times he has little grace notes that he sings. This adds a little bit of flair to his vocals and brings some more of a twist to his music. What I like about Jason Mraz is that he sounds absolutely fantastic when he sings live. In my opinion, he sounds way better live than in recordings. This truly is a great feat because 99% of singers sound better with the recordings and tweaks that they provide. But Jason Mraz is one of those rare ones who can sing and belt in a way that captures you when he sings live. When he sings live, it is usually just him and his guitar. What makes this so awesome is that he plays simple chords and melodies on his guitar just a support and relies on entertaining us with little surprises in his voice. From singing to rapping to his falsetto, we are never bored by his performance. A lot of people compare him to Ed Sheeran but Jason Mraz has something so incredibly special that only he has. There is no one else who sounds remotely similar to Jason Mraz. This is one of my live performances by any artist that I have heard or seen live. Another great thing about Jason Mraz's music is that he never really forgets his origins of coffeehouse music. There is always an element of the coffeehouse vibe to it. This guy seems to not even breathe when he sings and that continuous flow really makes this song have that pop vibe while also having a smooth jazzy feel to it. There is absolutely nothing I would change about this song. Jason Mraz is an artist that I can listen to all day because each song is different and showcases the multitude of talents that he has. Today's instrumental song is from the movie August Rush. I know I have now posted pretty much every song from this movie, but it happens to be so perfect when it comes to presenting you all with some sick guitar work. The movie music has all the things you could want from a great guitar piece. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
