David Guetta & Sam Martin and A Million Ways To Die In The West

Today I have a very interesting song for you by David Guetta. Thanks to Avicii, the idea of electronic bluegrass is now a reality. David Guetta took a stab at it and didn't do too shabby! I won't lie, this is not one of my favorite songs by Guetta, but I do like the fact that the song sounds like it should have come straight out of a Western film. It is actually kind of fantastic! Most of this song is done in that country western feel, but there are some really awesome moments of David Guetta's electronic music. The main electronic melody is really catchy and exciting, but the only problem I have is that it isn't long enough. In my opinion there needs to be a little bit more of David Guetta. But the vocalist Sam Martin is extremely phenomenal and completely brilliant. His voice is the perfect match for this kind of song. He is able to get that gritty Western sound to his voice but when it comes time for the main chorus, he is able to pull a very powerful and soulful voice out. There is a slight drawl to the way he sings which adds more to that feeling of the Wild Wild West. I just love the way he does vibrato when he sustains the long notes and sounds so free and loud. I think Sam Martin's voice captures the idea of the unruly nature, vivacity, and freedom of the stereotypical West. Seriously, if you think of any cowboy song, this voice sounds like it could fit right in with the rest. A little fun fact, Sam Martin is one of the founding members of Con Bro Chill which is a fantastically funny group of electronic musicians. I have never seen music videos as strange as theirs, but even in those songs, you can hear that slightly Western feel that Sam Martin adds. I don't think we really hear the electronic feel of the song till the first bass beats come out well into the beginning of the song. And then we don't really hear it again till after the first chorus. But I won't lie, it is pretty catchy! I do enjoy the way this song handled the electronic sound. It isn't too bass heavy and relies more on the brighter sounds. All in all, a good  song to jam to! Today's instrumental song is from the movie A Million Ways To Die In The West. To be completely honest, this song and the first one are very different yet they capture the same time period. But this movie is a comedy and therefore the music is more fast paced with more fiddle work and dance sounds. This is definitely saloon style music. This movie looks really funny and I can't wait to go see it. Hopefully it lives up to standards....This song is more of the adventurous feel that comes with Wild West movies which is just fine with me because it is as if the Indiana Jones soundtrack mixed with a Disney Western movie. Quite fun! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
