Chromeo and MKTO

Today I have an awesome and funky song for you by the duo known as Chromeo. I really enjoy this style of  music because it brings a modern twist on older tunes. This groovy sound is a great sound because it is like music from the 80's was sprayed over the more modern electronic feel. This song is just so smooth and suave and cool. I can imagine myself just hanging out at the beach listening to this tune. That is how much fun and how groovy the sound is. It used to be kind of rare to find this style of music but now it is becoming more popular. However, it is becoming distressingly more rare to find a band that can pull off this kind of song and be cool about it. Not many artists that do this style are really good at it. I can safely say that Chromeo is one of the groups that really knows what they are doing. There is not a single flaw in the way this song was made. I have listened to this song over and over again because I just can't get it out of my head! It has a really catchy tune to it and some wicked beats to compliment it. Plus, I find the lyrics of this song so intriguing and even though it is about a guy getting jealous, I still find it weirdly fun and exciting. I mean the song itself if just bumping! There is some really good guitar use in this song that is reminiscent of the 80's and it sounds so great with this song. This definitely falls on the side of post-disco sounds because it isn't clearly a disco song but has elements of that genre of music. What really makes this work instrumentally is the cooperation between acoustic and electronic instruments. Without one or the other, this song would not feel complete nor would it sound complete. While this song does use mainly electronic instruments, the acoustic instruments make a bigger impact by being the bass thrum of the song. If you took the guitar away you would automatically be able to tell that something was missing. I know, it's sad because when those acoustic instruments are in the song you can't really hear them. But all together, theses instruments have been directed into making a song that really makes you want to get up and dance and shake and go have fun. I enjoy the vocals in this song quite a bit as well. There is a definite 80's feel to it, but there is also something completely unique to his voice. It has that funky feel to it and his falsetto has that fun energy to it. His voice has that special quality which is so hard to explain, but it fits the song so well. It is the way he pronounces and presents the words. It's not so much the accent that he uses but rather the way he says the words with stop instead of making a straight flow, but in a way, they still do flow. It is also the parts of the words and syllables which he decides to stress. This way of singing is so different but very charming. This song is a great one and this duo is one you should check out! They are phenomenal! Today's instrumental song is an instrumental version of one of my favorite songs by MKTO. This song is really lively and I think it is super cute. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
