Röyksopp & Robyn and Transformers Age of Extinction
Today I have the newest song by Robyn and Röyksopp for you. Robyn has a really cool style to her persona and music. This song in particular goes back to the older style of electronic music with vocals. It even has a slight disco feel to it, which is something that Robyn can do so well. They went back to the beginning and worked from scratch to make this. From the beginnings of electronic music, this is what they have pulled from that age and combined with the new era of electronic music. I think this style of music suits Robyn so well and she is able to pull it off so well, especially with the type of vocals she has. This song has an upbeat and dance feel to it, but the lyrics scream sadness, loneliness, and desperation of many kinds and that creates an innate pull to the song. I got so hooked on the background music of this song. During the chorus there is a change from major to minor and that really pulls out the darker feelings. This style is similar to that of early electronic music, especially trance. And you can actually hear traces of trance in this song. This song is a great dance tune and I can't wait for remixes to come out because those could get pretty sick. Good beats, a good melody, and good vocals, all add together to make a great song! Today's instrumental song is from Transformers Age Of Extinction. This song has some really great electronic work and creates that sense of danger and mystery that comes with a movie like this. As this is an action movie as well, there is a higher intensity in the shorter span of time which makes the trailer even more impactful. This falls under a harder side of electronic music, but just listening to this is a reminder of how expansive the electronic music world. From dance clubs to movie music, this style is present and makes things even better than they are already. Of course this song in particular has more of the robotic feel to it, but there is also this tribal feel which juxtaposes beautifully against the modern feel. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
