Anberlin and Clash Of The Titans

Today I have music for you by one of my favorite bands of all time-Anberlin. It pains me to say that they are on their final tour together, and then they will disband to pursue different avenues. Now this is extremely sad and almost depressing to me because I absolutely love this band. Seriously, I am in love with this band. I have yet to find a song that I do not like. This band is has the attraction of a band like Coldplay, but with a heavier rock sound. Now this song by Anberlin is probably one of the heaviest rock sounding songs they have. There are moments in other songs where a little bit of scream can be heard, but for the most part, the guitar heaviness is really heard in this song. This song has an awesome guitar sound to it because it is so simple but is very commanding of the entire song. The main verses of the song use this simpler guitar melody, but then you get to the guitar solo and the talent of the guitarist can be heard through the shredding and riffs. The chords have a full sound to them and a very intense and energetic sound which drives this song so well. But the way it commands song is in such a way as to not overtake the soft vocals provided. Stephen Christian is one of my favorite singers of all time because he can pull off a heavy rock song like this, transition to an indie sound, go back to a scream, and then turn around and sing something absolutely romantic. His voice is just so damn beautiful and I was entranced from the very beginning of the first song I ever heard by them. Every component of this band, the vocals, guitarists, and drummer have this incredible talent that hasn't been heard by many people which is such a shame because Anberlin is just so good. This is a band I could easily see over and over again and listen to all the time and never get tired of it. Today's instrumental song comes form teh movie Clash of teh Titans. This movie was definitely better than the sequel. I really enjoyed the music in this movie, especially the main theme. It has this smooth intensity and adventurous sound that befits the type of movie this is. I love the use of the brass to make this song super bad ass. At around 0:17, you will hear the brass and know exactly what sound I am referring to. Honestly, I could just hear that and feel like a heroine, capable of doing anything no matter how dangerous it may be. Being able to defy the odds against me. This piece really captures that feeling of action and defiance which is brilliant. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
