Christina Grimmie and Hachi

Today I have some slower music, one of those songs that you can share with a significant other. This song is by Christina Grimmie and I have to say, she really knows how to convey emotions and power through her voice. Her voice has a deeper tone to it which adds so much to the background melodies and piano as well as the raw emotion of the song. This song is kind of a mix of soul and a sweet ballad which makes it different from other styles. Just a beautiful song. Today's instrumental song is from the movie Hachi. I hadn't heard of this movie until I heard this song and the soundtrack and was very stunned. Incredible piano work is exhibited here and is perfectly balanced with cello solos. Today's song is a really cool one out of South Africa by the band Kongos. There are so many awesome things happening in this song. For example the first sounds you hear is this really sick accordion work, and yes, these guys made the accordion look even cooler than any other musician out there has. I love the way they use the accordion and the tone of it. And then you hit the chorus which has these really strong vocals and you get the feel from the multiple voices with these sweet guitar licks and such a loud presence with the electric guitar. This song just kicks some major ass! Today's song is by the Beastie Boys, and is one of my favorite songs by them. Zayn Malik and Interstellar

Today I wanted to give a shout out to an artist who is both very famous and very underground. Most people know him as Zayn Malik, that guy who was in One Direction but left the band. So a little background, Zayn Malik was one of the five members of the famous boy band, One Direction. His departure from the band was all over the news last year, and I wont' lie, I felt bad for him. Not because he left the band, but because of what that meant for him in the public eye. It marked him as a huge target for papparzi and press, and I just feel so bad for him because he had to live in that public eye for so long. Which is one of the reasons why he wanted to leave. To live his life more quietly. So that of course, is a consequence of his level of fame. But on the other hand, we have his more quiet and surprising side. Hello, hello! It has been quite a while since I last dropped a post on the blog. I want to go ahead and send a huge shout out to everyone who has been patient with me, and the more sporadic nature of my writing.
