Marlene and Mission Impossible 2

Hey everyone, I'm back! I know I didn't post last night, but in my defense, I was at a concert. And let me tell you, it was such a great one too! Young The Giant...absolutely phenomenal. Anyway, for today's song I decided to go more mellow. This song is by Marlene and has a really great sound. I like the R&B style beat mixed with synth. I think its a combination that works very well together and add her vocals on top, it creates a very smooth sound. I really like this song and I lover her voice. It has a strength to it but also has a very feminine sound. Today's instrumental song is from the movie Mission Impossible 2. A pretty good movie, and a great soundtrack so I'm not complaining! Today's song is a really cool one out of South Africa by the band Kongos. There are so many awesome things happening in this song. For example the first sounds you hear is this really sick accordion work, and yes, these guys made the accordion look even cooler than any other musician out there has. I love the way they use the accordion and the tone of it. And then you hit the chorus which has these really strong vocals and you get the feel from the multiple voices with these sweet guitar licks and such a loud presence with the electric guitar. This song just kicks some major ass! Today's song is by the Beastie Boys, and is one of my favorite songs by them. Zayn Malik and Interstellar

Today I wanted to give a shout out to an artist who is both very famous and very underground. Most people know him as Zayn Malik, that guy who was in One Direction but left the band. So a little background, Zayn Malik was one of the five members of the famous boy band, One Direction. His departure from the band was all over the news last year, and I wont' lie, I felt bad for him. Not because he left the band, but because of what that meant for him in the public eye. It marked him as a huge target for papparzi and press, and I just feel so bad for him because he had to live in that public eye for so long. Which is one of the reasons why he wanted to leave. To live his life more quietly. So that of course, is a consequence of his level of fame. But on the other hand, we have his more quiet and surprising side. Hello, hello! It has been quite a while since I last dropped a post on the blog. I want to go ahead and send a huge shout out to everyone who has been patient with me, and the more sporadic nature of my writing.
