Hellogoodbye and The 1975

Image
Today I have music by a group out of California called Hellogoodbye. This group has been around for a while now but have kind of laid low. I really enjoy this song because it has a very chill sound to it. I won't lie, this song reminds me of The 1975 because it is a very similar style. But it is also still very much like Hellogoodbye. It has that heavy bass presence and calm energy. This is one of those songs that have that pumped up feel to it but it is not necessarily happy. I don't know, I just really love this song and how the drum beat in the background is like a wonderful heartbeat along with the soft electric guitar in the background. I first heard this song when I was going through this really intense phase of indie rock music, and this is one that I had to listen to everyday. On repeat. I am firm believer that every song gives off a different vibe and energy, and I love the one that I get with this song. This is something that makes me think of so many things at once, ...

Saad Ramadan and Guy Gerber

Today I have some foreign music for you! It just dawned on me that I haven't posted anything foreign in a very very long time. Saad Ramadan is a Lebanese singer, and has quite a following in that part of the world. It is really cool to hear music like this because a lot of think EDM type sounds are limited to just European kinds of groups or artists. But there is an untapped treasrure of electronic music to be found in the Middle East. I know I have posted some music from out there, and for good reason. A lot of the EDM found in the Middle East is unlike a lot of music you have probably ever heard. The thing about Middle Eastern electronic songs in that they are rooted in that Eastern European kind of sound, the sounds we get from the likes of Tiesto or Martin Garrix or Armin van Buuren. But they also have this massive twist that is filled with so many Middle Eastern and Arab specific type sounds. The melodies and harmonies all reflect what the stereotypical Arab sound would be. Th...

Sir Sly and Phillip Schlosser

Image
Today's song is by the trio known as Sir Sly. I really like the dark intensity of this song and the heavy drum beat in the background. This has such a steady rhythm to it, like one of the beats movie makers use for scenes when people are using hammer spikes for making railroads or something. I feel like you will understand what I mean when you listen to this song...But this song also has this sense of adventure or running towards something that you can't find until you finally come up to some place and reach understanding. I really like this song and it's really just awesome! Today's instrumental song is and original piece by Phillip Schlosser. I really like the interesting use of string instruments along with a heavy drum bass. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Andy Mineo and Flo Rida

Image
Today I have some music for you by an underground rapper by the name Andy Mineo. I think the easiest way to describe Andy Mineo's style is to call him a mix of Kanye West and Childish Gambino. Of course individually, both of those artists are phenomenal and excel in their craft. But put them together and you get some wicked cool music! Andy Mineo absolutely nails the whole idea of "rap" music. He has every characteristic of a good rap song, and one that could get very big very fast. Now the reason I picked Childish Gambino as a point of reference is because of the way Andy Mineo raps. His style is very similar to Childish. Andy Mineo gets clever with his lyrics and he likes play on the words he uses. But at the same time, his lyrics have meaning to them beyond the general rap topics of sex, drugs, alcohol, and money. Let us be completely honest, a lot of the modern rap game is completely overrun with those topics. But I like how Andy Mineo changes it up for us, the same w...

Audien and Lady Antebellum and Armin van Buuren

Image
Today I have some wicked new music for you. Audien is an electronic artist that I really can't get enough of. Every one of his songs has been a hit for me. He knows how to make a wide variety of house music wish is absolutely amazing. There is this great melody, buildup and climax in every song and each one sounds different. This song features Lady Antebellum. Now who would have thought a country band and an EDM artist would go together? I mean Avicii did it with a lot of style and skill. But it is different when working with a band like Lady Antebellum. This is a band that already has an established style, a specific sound that they emulate with each and every song and album they put out. So to have to pull an artist like that and house-ify it, well it isn't exactly an easy task. But Audien does such an incredible job that it is actually mindblowing. He is the kind of artist that really takes the time to make sure each track has originality. With this song for example, one of ...

30 Seconds To Mars & Afrojack and Zedd

Image
Today I have such an incredibly amazing song for you all! I am actually extremely excited to show you this one because it combines two incredible artists and genres. This song is by 30 Seconds To Mars and Afrojack and oh my word it is one of the most epic collaborations ever! Both of these artists are just phenomenal and this music video is brilliantly synced to both the song and the distinctive style between these two geniuses. I am so proud to see how far one of my favorite bands has come since A Beautiful Lie and I am so impressed with their effervescent nature even after almost 16 years. Nice choice Afrojack! Today's instrumental song is a version of a new Zedd song, and it is a really good one too! An amalgamation of sick beats and great sounds. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Ben Rector and French Kiss

Image
Today I have some slower, more acoustic sounds for you. This first song is a more popular one by Ben Rector, and its one of my favorites by him. This song has so much emotion poured into the writing, composition, and melodies. His voice is so soothing and is able to really make you feel what he is feeling. I love how simply moving and beautiful and calming this song is. Today's instrumental song is from the movie French Kiss. I love the harp work that is happening and the soft wind solos. This is also a very calming and tranquil piece that makes me reflect and think deeply about everything. Beautiful! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
