Keeping It Fresh

So today I have an interesting song by a band called The Limousines. This song has so many elements of smaller genres, and they make it work so incredible well! There are hints of disco, electro, indie, and even a little reggae. I just love the energy this song brings-its not necessarily happy, but it has this positive feel. The vocals have a somewhat ethereal sound, which adds a mysteriousness about the song. Today's instrumental song is from the movie Tron. This song is absolutely incredible. Today I have music for you by the band Goodnight, Texas. Now the first time I heard this song I was immediately captured. I am not normally one for country music, but this had such a folk twist to it that it made the song a million times better. There is something that older folk sounds do to music that turns it from being a typical country tune into a song that is powerful and intense. The percussion in this song pounds like the beating of a heart and it suits the mood that the guitar sets so incredibly well.  The vocals are minimal in this song, but the way that they are slightly fuzzed out is really fitting to give the song that intense and hardy sound. This is a song that I imagine the constant beating of a pick axe to the ground, the way you may see it in movies. That synchronized slamming to the ground, the way everything seems to be parts of a machine is kind of what I feel when I listen to this song. Today I have a remix of a song by one of the best solo artists of recent time. Ed Sheeran has the reputation of being a phenomenal artist. He is a talented singer and musician and is someone who seems to sing for the love of music. He is also one of the artists who seems to cross all boundaries. Though he is white, he won an award for being the most influential artist in black music. Now while a lot of that is stereotyping, it still goes to show that to him, music is something that has no boundaries, no stereotypes, no definition tying it down. Now the thing I love about Ed Sheeran's music is that it has the ability to be interpreted and remixed in so many different ways. Today I have some music for you by Fedde le Grand, Dimitri Vegas, and Like Mike. This song is pretty darn incredible. This song came out exactly one week ago and I have not been able to stop listening to it. There is so much energy and excitement and even adventure wrapped up in the waves of this song. This is one of the songs that is a little hard to explain because it is that much fun and is that vivacious. The lyrics, first of all, are simply awesome and actually pretty meaningful. This is a song that has the meaning of the lyrics go with the tone and mood of the song. With this song I can only imagine people doing extremely amazing things that are so exhilarating. This song is flushed with a pumped up adrenaline sound and I think that is just the greatest thing. Today's song is by the band Foo Fighters. The Foo Fighters have a really interesting sound because they are able to mix thrashing energy with incredible melodies. I love how the drums have their own melody during the chorus. Hopefully you will like them too! Today's instrumental song is by a band called Codes in the Clouds. Today I have some music for you by the artist known as DJ Earworm. Now some of you may have heard of him before because he is best known for being the mashup guy. That is right, DJ Earworm is responsible for all the awesome mashups done every year with the most popular songs of that year. Since 2007, DJ Earworm has put together mashups known as the United State of Pop series. Each of these remixes is done with the bass beat and rhythmic line of one song and all the others are melded in to create the final song. Now, DJ Earworm has this cool and unique style of remixing because he gradually layers songs together. This in turns adds more dynamic movements and texture to the song while also building momentum.
