Today I have a remix of a song by one of the best solo artists of recent time. Ed Sheeran has the reputation of being a phenomenal artist. He is a talented singer and musician and is someone who seems to sing for the love of music. He is also one of the artists who seems to cross all boundaries. Though he is white, he won an award for being the most influential artist in black music. Now while a lot of that is stereotyping, it still goes to show that to him, music is something that has no boundaries, no stereotypes, no definition tying it down. Now the thing I love about Ed Sheeran's music is that it has the ability to be interpreted and remixed in so many different ways. Today I have some music for you by Fedde le Grand, Dimitri Vegas, and Like Mike. This song is pretty darn incredible. This song came out exactly one week ago and I have not been able to stop listening to it. There is so much energy and excitement and even adventure wrapped up in the waves of this song. This is one of the songs that is a little hard to explain because it is that much fun and is that vivacious. The lyrics, first of all, are simply awesome and actually pretty meaningful. This is a song that has the meaning of the lyrics go with the tone and mood of the song. With this song I can only imagine people doing extremely amazing things that are so exhilarating. This song is flushed with a pumped up adrenaline sound and I think that is just the greatest thing. This is the first song by Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike that hasn't been big room oriented and I really like that. Today's song is by the band Foo Fighters. The Foo Fighters have a really interesting sound because they are able to mix thrashing energy with incredible melodies. I love how the drums have their own melody during the chorus. Hopefully you will like them too! Today's instrumental song is by a band called Codes in the Clouds. Today I have some music for you by the artist known as DJ Earworm. Now some of you may have heard of him before because he is best known for being the mashup guy. That is right, DJ Earworm is responsible for all the awesome mashups done every year with the most popular songs of that year. Since 2007, DJ Earworm has put together mashups known as the United State of Pop series. Each of these remixes is done with the bass beat and rhythmic line of one song and all the others are melded in to create the final song. Now, DJ Earworm has this cool and unique style of remixing because he gradually layers songs together. This in turns adds more dynamic movements and texture to the song while also building momentum. Today's song of the day comes from Europe, specifically, Sweden! Ola Svensson has an amazing voice and a really pumped up beat going on. This is a pretty dancy song, so if you like it, I am glad! His first American tour actually began this year so kudos to that! He was actually a contestant on Swedish Idol, so obviously he is pretty darn great live! Today's instrumental song of the day is from Tron. This is one of the greatest soundtracks of all time because the entire score was composed and performed by techno gods of Daft Punk. Today's song of the day is by a Youtube sensation who was discovered by Oprah.Charice Pempengco is a girl who grew up in the Philippines and was brought on Oprah for her outstanding voice and vocal range. She has performed all over the world with people such as Celine Dion and David Foster. Her voice is so incredible and even if you don't like the song, you can't deny how beautiful her voice is. And considering the way she was discovered and her repertoire, it is safe to say that this is one talented chick. Charice has incredible control of her voice when she switches ranges and her vocal trills are positively amazing. Charice also has one of the most powerful female vocals of her age. Today I have music for you by the duo Majid Jordan. This duo was co-created by Drake, so we do hear some of that style in this song. This is a pretty great duo in the sense that they are really good at singing and producing music. Not only do they make catchy music, but it is also them producing. This is not a common thing in the rap and R&B world which is why I think this is pretty cool. Believe it or not, this duo has even produced for Drake. Majid Jordan does a great job of making this song sound seductive and sexy, thanks to their voices and the background music. The vocals are a mix of August Alsina and Lloyd and The Weekend, and basically everything that is sexy about R&B. This song is just so incredibly well done and produced that it kind of takes your breath away.
