Backstreet Boys and Country Strong

Image
Today I have music by one of the greatest boy bands of all time-The Backstreet Boys. This is definitely one of my favorites by them, but lets be honest, every one of their songs is amazing! But this one in particular falls on the love song side of things, and I just love the way they harmonize with each lead voice to make it so that the main voice stands out but is softened by the harmonization. Its quite brilliant actually if you think about it. But this is from their older days, which sometimes I really do miss, but BSB is coming out with new music now and I can't wait! Today's instrumental song is from the movie Country Strong. Apparently this is a good movie so I am going to have to give this a watch. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

David Cook and People Like Us

Image
Today I have music from an American Idol champion by the name David Cook. This song has a really nice guitar melody line, one that meshes so well with the sweetness of the lyrics. I am a sucker for songs like this, I can't deny it, but David Cook has really done a wonderful job. There is an element of rock, pop, country, and romance all balled up into one song that he rounds off with that slight grit in his voice. I think this song is so great and his voice does the yearning in this song justice. Today's instrumental song is from the movie People Like Us. I find the beginning drum part to be extremely cool and pretty darn amazing! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Thirteen Senses and Merlin

Image
Today I have music for you by the band known as Thirteen Senses. I really like their style because it has a very energetic feel while being a soft-spoken and sounding group. This group has the perfect sound for whenever I am feeling very creative and artsy, driving down a long road, or just enjoying the world around me. Its one of those songs that make you really feel everything and see everything a little clearer and with a little bit more soul. When I listen to this song, I feel like I am in solitude with a soft colored sky and open hills surrounding me. As you can see, I am quite the imaginative romantic. Today's instrumental song is from the television show Merlin. Not only is this a great show, but the score is absolutely amazing. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Conchita Wurst and Adam Balazs

Image
Today I have a song for you by the newest winner of Eurovision. Conchita Wurst has such a powerful voice and I was extremely moved by this live performance. I heard this version first, and nothing can beat it. Even the official recording of this song lacks the raw strength and emotion Conchita gave in this performance. I think when you hear it, you will also feel the pain behind the meaning of the song. This is not meant to be controversial in the slightest, I am just in it for appreciating the brilliance and talent of an artist. Today's instrumental song is by the composer Adam Balazs. Another incredible masterpiece by another phenomenal artist. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Hunter Hayes and Brave

Image
Today I have new music for you by one of my favorite country artists, Hunter Hayes. I firmly believe that he is genuinely talented, with such a wide range of skills and versatility. Not only is he a great singer, but he can play the drums, his lyrics are meaningful, and the way he plays the guitar is just incredible! And of course, he is a cutie but that's beside the point. Every song of his has a certain meaning and his melodies match what he is trying to say in a way that can really make you feel it. His new album comes out soon so go check it out! Today's instrumental song is from the movie Brave. It has a longer intro, but bursts into an energetic piece filled with bagpipes and excitement. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Earth, Wind, & Fire and Jump5

Image
Today I have two versions of the same song for you. This first one is the original version of the song. Now of course, being by Earth, Wind, and Fire, this song has a very groovy feel to it that makes you feel really good and smooth. And the guitar riffs in this song are absolutely amazing. I think the ending is really wicked because the instruments drop out and then the singers continue a cappella style which is something that is not common to music from then. Now this second version is a cover done by the band Jump5. There are definitely parts of this song that I find kind of great! They throw a more modern twist on that disco funk and make it into more of a pop feel while also keeping a sweet guitar riff. Not too shabby of a cover in my opinion! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Diplo and E.S. Posthumus

Image
Today I have an awesome song for you by Diplo. I have to say, I really like the way the snare drum is heavily incorporated into this song. It adds this extra element of being bad ass to it, along with the trap feel. I absolutely love the vocals in this song, which seems to be a common thread in electronic music. But the beat is really sick and the tribal background vocals are pretty darn cool. The intro is just perfect and this song is just pretty freaking awesome! Today's instrumental song is by E.S. Posthumus. Now I know this has no electronic to it whatsoever except for an electric guitar, but I really liked the intense energy of this song and the dark style it has. This is the definition of epic music and I would really love to hear it in a movie. I can already imagine different scenes from movies that this song fits perfectly with. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
