Ben Rector and French Kiss

Image
Today I have some slower, more acoustic sounds for you. This first song is a more popular one by Ben Rector, and its one of my favorites by him. This song has so much emotion poured into the writing, composition, and melodies. His voice is so soothing and is able to really make you feel what he is feeling. I love how simply moving and beautiful and calming this song is. Today's instrumental song is from the movie French Kiss. I love the harp work that is happening and the soft wind solos. This is also a very calming and tranquil piece that makes me reflect and think deeply about everything. Beautiful! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Far East Movement and Kendrick Lamar & Eprom

Today I have a pretty awesome song brought to you by Far East Movement. I really like how this group has evolved their sound while also keeping a unique, trademark sound. This song in particular has a really good trap twist to it which I find pretty sick. The beat is really great and it works well with the stylistic nature of this song. I think its is so fresh to see an artist going out of their normal comfort song while still incorporating their original style and not including what is considered "popular." While trap is becoming more popular, the way Far East Movement handles this song is very unique. Today's instrumental song is the instrumental version of one of my favorite Kendrick Lamar songs. You can't ever go wrong with this song. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

5 Seconds of Summer and NSYNC

Image
Today is all about them boy band style songs. This first song is by the band called 5 Seconds Of Summer out of Australia. This song has very boy band-esque sounds, including the lyrics and style of performing. The topic matter is the usual stuff about girls and what not. However what I found very different and unique about this was the type of melody and use of minor keys. That somehow makes this sounds more mature which is pretty cool! I like this song and find it a good mix. Today's instrumental song is by one of the greatest boy bands of all time- NSYNC. I have yet to meet someone who has no idea who these guys are. They will never get old and will forever be a classic love of mine. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Chet Faker and The Bourne Identity

Image
Today's song is probably the best cover I have heard of this song, and one of the most incredible covers of all time. I have never heard a hip hop and rap song turned into such a cool, acoustic, and smooth song with such perfection and pristine. Every note is beautifully done and the whole song was arranged in such an incredible manner to where it maintains an R & B beat while still being an indie song. Words cannot describe how sick and phenomenal this song is! Today's instrumental song is from the movie The Bourne Identity. It kind of has the same low key tempo and feel to it. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Morgan Page & Deadmau5 and Glenn Morrison

Image
Today's song is by Morgan Page and is a remixed version done by Deadmau5. Honestly, with two DJs like this, you can't go wrong. I love how psychedelic this song and how it doesn't have that usual bright energy of EDM songs, but rather, it has a toned down and almost cooler sound to it. If it were a color on the color wheel, it would fall into the blues and dark purple areas. I don't know if that makes any sense or if it is one of those feelings that everyone gets when listening to this song but cannot really describe. Today's instrumental song is definitely a very similar song and has that same kind of psychedelic energy to it. Glenn Morrison is just so talented and is able to capture those weird places we go to in our brains in the music. Brilliant. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Nicky Romero & Krewella and Steve Aoki

Image
Today's song is a really good dance tune/hardcore jamming song. This is a collaboration done by two very talented artists, Nicky Romero and Krewella. There aren't any songs by these two artists that I dislike which is so freaking awesome! The drops are awesome and the throbbing bass is phenomenal. This song has sick written all over it, especially with the meshed sounds and vibes that make these two artists so different. Today's instrumental song is by the craziest DJ out there, Steve Aoki. Not only is his music brilliant, but he is one crazy guy. A perfect combination! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Christina Grimmie and Hachi

Image
Today I have some slower music, one of those songs that you can share with a significant other. This song is by Christina Grimmie and I have to say, she really knows how to convey emotions and power through her voice. Her voice has a deeper tone to it which adds so much to the background melodies and piano as well as the raw emotion of the song. This song is kind of a mix of soul and a sweet ballad which makes it different from other styles. Just a beautiful song. Today's instrumental song is from the movie Hachi. I hadn't heard of this movie until I heard this song and the soundtrack and was very stunned. Incredible piano work is exhibited here and is perfectly balanced with cello solos. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
