Keeping It Fresh

Today's song features Mani Hoffman again! I couldn't stop listening to him, and then heard this song and was a little mind-blown. This song is by The Superman Lovers, which is house music. The vocals in this song feature Mani Hoffman, but I really love the beat of this song. It is like the 80's met house music and decided to mesh together-it is so amazing! This was a pretty genius way to bring a resurgence of the electronic disco sound and beat! Today's instrumental song is by M83, and it does have some words, but I thought it went so well with the first song. It has that 80's beat to it thrown in at times. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today's song of the day is by French singer and songwriter Mani Hoffman. I have to say, this song is so catchy and has great elements from jazz, coffeehouse sounds, and traditional pop. I can imagine this song being in a commercial, it has the bouncy beat, catchy chorus, and carefree tone. What makes this song even better is that Hoffman smoothly switches from English to French in that amazing voice of his. Today's instrumental song is a version of  a song by We Are Scientists. This song comes from Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, which is a great movie! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today's song of the day is by a band called 30 Seconds to Mars. Maybe you have heard of them! I love this band so much and Jared Leto is so funny on stage! When I saw them live a couple years ago, I had and incredible amount of fun, and it was an awesome way to end the day, even though I did have school the next day....but who cares?! This song has such a triumphant sound to it, as if we have the freedom to do anything we feel, and go on the wildest adventures. Not to sound like a romantic, but the tone of this song is the feeling one can get when the sun is rising on a new age. Today's instrumental song has that same feeling and has a beautiful blend of voices and orchestral sound.

Today's song is a compilation by Jay Z, Kanye West, and Frank Ocean. This song such an amazing bass line and beat. I really love the lyrics and I think all three voices sound so incredible together. There is some language, so head's up. This song is super catchy and has a different type of energy to it. Today's instrumental song is performed by a full orchestra. I have to say, this is quite amazing. It has intensity and uses all the instruments with amazing balance. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today, I have some post grunge music from Breaking Benjamin. The lead singer's voice has so much power and emotion to it. Now, I am not a death metal person, but this guy has an amazing screamo voice. This song is really deep, and the instrumental portions are incredible! Today's instrumental song of the day is from X Men: First Class. This is actually the main theme and has a pretty hard rock sound to it. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today, I really wanted to play some John Mayer. He is a blues rock musician, and is one of the few musicians who really seems to become one with his guitar. He has extremely smooth vocals and plays the guitar with a blend of an acoustic and blues sound. Some of his songs kind of sound like something you would hear in a coffee shop, but that just makes his music so much better! He truly is a gifted artist and I definitely recommend that you listen to other songs he has written because they are so amazing! Today's instrumental song of the day is from the movie, People Like Us. This song also has a bluesy feel to it and goes well with John Mayer. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today's song is by the former Matchbox 20 singer, Rob Thomas. This song is a smoother, calmer rock/contemporary. This song just makes me feel good and tranquil. I really love the lyrics to this song as well because it really is a pick-me-up. This song can make you look at any situation in a completely different way, which I find very impressive. Today's instrumental song is from the movie, The Island. It has a determined sound to it, plus it gives you the feeling that you can reach the highest point of something and look at all the splendor below (really romanticizing that aren't I?) I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
