Keeping It Fresh

Today I have some music for you by a wonderful but somewhat under appreciated solo artist. Adam Lambert may not have won American Idol, but he has won over the ears of such a huge audience. But the sad thing, is that he is not as well known as he should be, given how great his talent is. It is kind of funny when I talk to people about Adam Lambert's music, because most of them have no idea what his music sounds like. But Adam Lambert has a voice that is almost angelic and full of so many hidden possibilities. He sings with so much conviction, no matter what kind of song he is singing. Whether it is a ballad, or a hype song, or a pop song, Adam Lambert will sing his heart out and look fabulous while doing so. But what makes this song even better, is that it has so much meaning. These are not empty lyrics, but ones that tell stories. The general story though, is the pain and sadness that can be found in the large city. How not everything is full of glitz and glamour. Adam Lambert jus...

Today I wanted to post some music that comes from one of the biggest festivals in Latin America- Dia de los Muertos. This is a version of what we call Halloween which I find to be really awesome. On this day, the dead are celebrated for the life they lived and the families all partake in feasting together and visiting the resting place of loved ones. I find this tradition to be really great because it shows this kind of appreciation that these people have for those who have passed along. It allows you to remember and rejoice in the life that loved ones lived, rather than focusing on their absence. It is a time for families to come together and really be one. So in honor of that, I have some music that is devoted to Dia de los Muertos. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Sorry about yesterday's post! I had a religious event to attend and wasn't able to put out some music for you all. But, today I do have some! It has been an extremely long time since I have posted any Latin or Spanish music. So today, I have some music by the always incredible and one of my favorite foreign artists, Daddy Yankee. This is actually a pretty old song by him but I never get tired of it. This song has so much energy and such a great beat to it. This song cause infectious dancing and if you don't feel the need to get up and dance I bet you caught yourself head banging a little bit or even bobbing. I highly, highly recommend you listen to Daddy Yankee's other music because it is just as good! Today's instrumental song is some reggaeton beats. I love this beat so much, maybe because you can do so much with it. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today I have some music for you out of Puerto Rico by a duo known as Plan B. This song is really cool because it has an awesome mix of modern electronics and the more traditional Latin beat. This song has a really good energy to it because it is not overly energetic nor is it very languid. I really like the way this song sounds, especially the chorus. This is an awesome song to dance to because you can do so much with it. You can do some salsa or bachata dancing to it but also go with something like hip hop as well. This song has a sound that appeals to a wide range of listeners. I also think it is really cool how every member of the group has something specific to contribute to the song. A lot of times bands and groups of singers provide similar ranges and the rest serve as harmonizers to the person singing the melody. But for this song we have someone who sings the chorus, another who does more of the rapping, someone to cover the low bass notes, and another to get the higher ones. I...

Today's song is a new one by Wisin. It has been way too long since I have posted a Latin song, so this is kind of nice! Anyway, this song has a great energetic beat that makes you want to go dance or at the least a little bit of bobbing and jumping. It is just such a good song and I really like the melody of the song. Today's instrumental song is an awesome remix of a pretty cool song. This remix is done by the artist J Rabbit, and it is pretty darn cool. The tune at the beginning is pretty recognizable, but the beat drops and that's when some serious stuff starts to happen. This remix is one of the coolest things that has happened to Latin sounding music recently. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

It has been way to long since I have posted a non-English song, so today I have music from one of my favorite Latina artists. Shakira is mostly known for her insanely incredible dancing skills but this song combines some of her awesome aspects. It has the energetic feel that we all need to dance and attempt to look like Shakira! This song has an English counterpart which is just as good, so go check it out! Today's instrumental song is a version of a song by Yandel. This has a great mix of modern electro and traditional Latin beats. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today I have some cultural music for you, from Columbia! This song is by a man known as Juanes, who is an incredible singers and performer. This song has such a great beat and melody to it, plus there is this switch between calmer and darker sounds which is amazing! overall, this song has great energy and is amazing to dance to! Today's instrumental song comes from the movie Zorro, which yes is old, but still has an awesome soundtrack! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

It has been a while since I posted a R&B or reggae song, so today I have a song that encompasses both! This song is by Mohombi and what makes this song even more impressive is the fact that Mohombi was raised in Europe. It is incredible how well he uses and creates an awesome reggae, soca sound! This song is fun to listen to and dance to! Today's instrumental song is an instrumental version of a really popular reggae song by OutKast. This song has a great mix of reggae and hip hop beats, plus you can't help but bounce a little to this song! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today I have some music from the beautiful country Puerto Rico. Daddy Yankee is a prominent artist in the Latin American scene, and for good reason! His beats are great to dance to and have a fantastic blend of reggaeton and Latin American beats. It is an awesome blend of mambo and saco as well! Today's instrumental song is an example of mambo beats, which is actually quite catchy. Mambo beats can make you want to start dancing! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
