Hunter Hayes and The Perks Of Being A Wallflower
Today I have some country music for you because it has been quite some time since I have posted any. This song is by my favorite country singer, Hunter Hayes. He is one of the most talented artists that I have heard, and especially for his youth. Every song is an inside view into the talented world he seems to be a part of. Hunter Hayes is an extremely gifted guitarist along with being a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter. Now this song in particular is one of my favorites because it has clever lyrics which make it the sweetest and most heartwarming song. The main chorus line is very witty in the fact that he addresses the idea of heartbreak in order to convey his intense feelings for her. There is so much passion and strength and overall power to this song that does not fall on the side of heavy and intense, but rather upbeat and desiring. The whole song features Hayes's incredible guitar work, especially toward the end. His guitar solo features amazing riffs and chord changes and awesome speed with note changing. There is also some brilliant mandolin work in the background which was a little bit harder for me to pick out but after a couple of listens you can really get the sound of the mandolin in comparison to the guitar. I absolutely love the way the song starts out. Some simple guitar work accompanied by a soft percussion. And then of course, the build up to the first chorus. Definitely one of the biggest highlights of the song for me. It is a feeling that I cannot really express in simple words. There is this punctuated feeling that I physically feel in my heart. I don't know what it is about these transitions that makes it so beautiful and touching to me. Maybe it is the way the guitar is heavily strummed, or maybe the harmonies between all the instruments. Maybe it is the punctuated beat that provides the transition, or maybe the acoustic soaring we hear from the guitar. I cannot fully describe what it is about that part, but it is a feeling that you experience in order to understand. Now, Hayes's voice is just beautiful and extremely soulful, one that fits his country and Cajun style of music. There is not so much this idea of lusting for someone but rather an intense longing for person. The soul in his voice conveys the desire for love not the physicality or sensual nature of a relationship. For Hayes, it is all about the feelings associated with being part of someone's life and calls out to a certain aspiring lover. It does not matter the consequences of falling in love, the consequences of being with a person. Having the chance to have this person in his life as a significant other, well that means everything. This song is just so incredibly sweet and cute and I have to say that it does have the capability to melt my heart. Today's instrumental song is from the movie Perks Of Being A Wallflower. Now this movie has gotten so much love for the ability to follow the book very well and for having amazing cast and crew to which this movie was successfully pulled off. So many people rave about this movie and it seems like a good choice. The soundtrack for this movie is very good, both the score and regular soundtrack. The score focuses more on softer guitar melodies to compliment the rougher life the main character lives. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
