Avicii and Alesso

Image
Today I have some of Avicii's newer stuff for you! This song has a really good beat and a bright feel to it. But I have to say, my favorite thing about this song is during the main chorus, the way Avicii layers the vocal harmonies and makes it have a fuzzed electronic sound. I really like the vocalist, Salem Al Fakir. This is not his first collaboration with Avicii and I certainly hope it is not his last. Today's instrumental song is by Alesso who never fails to disappoint. Seriously. This guy is a package of awesomeness. The beats are sick and this is definitely a song to go crazy to. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Birds Of Tokyo and How To Train Your Dragon

Image
Today I have some music for you by Birds Of Tokyo. Now I have to say, this band always seems to throw in little surprises into their songs. Each one has a special musical theme that is very intriguing. In this song, the theme kind of centers around the use of the bass guitar to create the main background sounds and beat with the help of some piano synth. Pretty spectacular in my opinion. And the climax ins't really made with a huge instrumental change but rather, a rising of the vocals and then a single drum beat. I think it is absolutely amazing! Today's instrumental song is from one of my favorite animated movies ever! How To Train Your Dragon is just an amazing movie with great lessons, a great script, and a phenomenal soundtrack. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

One Direction and The Book Thief

Image
Today I have a new song for you by the extremely famous boy band, One Direction. I have to give it to these guys, they have really grown and matured in a way that is incredible and rare. Usually, when celebrities hit the level of fame and popularity as these five, they tend to start spiraling downwards. However, these boys took what they got and ran with it, curving along the way to create a new sound and move away from the typical "boy band" stereotype. I love this song so much because you can really hear and feel the maturity behind the song, the raw emotion and power in simplicity. I was never a huge fan but now I can definitely say that things have changed! Today's instrumental song is from the movie The Book Thief. I have to say, this is one of the most beautiful and moving movies I have seen and I highly recommend that you watch it when you have the chance. It gives you such a different outlook on life and it is very poignant. I hope you enjoy the music and please f...

The Neighbourhood and Pan's Labyrinth

Image
Today I have a new song for you by The Neighbourhood. This song comes off the new Spider Man 2 soundtrack and I absolutely love it! This is very in sync with the typical dark style of The Neighbourhood. What I love about this band is that nothing is purely black and white, but their sound falls on the grayscale. When I hear this song, all I see are dark swirling greys. I love the chorus, the dark beauty that comes with a simpler instrumental use but more complex melody work. I haven't seen the movie so I don't know how it fits, but it seems to be perfect for a movie about a troubled and conflicted hero. Today's instrumental song is from Pan's Labyrinth, from which I have heard, is a weirdly creepy but fantastic movie. I can't deny the brilliance of the score though! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

The Cab and Yes Man

Image
Today I have a great song for you by the band known as The Cab. I am not going to lie, part of me really likes the fact that they are under the radar. Why? Because it then allows them to experiment with their sound while also sounding the same. I love Alexander DeLeon's voice so much because it has such a sweet quality while maintaining a certain strength to it. Its an absolutely beautiful voice and he sounds so incredibly amazing with the guitar work in the background. This is one of those songs that you really feel the mix of emotions and sounds all at once. And the soft guitar solo-just beautiful. Today's instrumental song is from the movie Yes Man. It does have some background vocals but hey! Its all good. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

The Wallflowers and Meet The Robinsons

Image
Today I have music for you by a band called The Wallflowers. This is a really good rock group and its one that kind of employs the use of blues, folk, and country sounds. I really like that sound because they are able to mesh it so well. This song in particular falls on the mellower side but the meaning behind the song is profoundly deep. This is a song that I recommend one to pay attention to the lyrics of because it has so much meaning. This song has actually won two Grammy awards which is phenomenal! Today's instrumental song is from the movie Meet the Robinsons and is written and performed by Rob Thomas, whom I absolutely love! If you have not seen this movie, I highly recommend that you do because it is a really great movie with a lot of depth and complexity while also being a great kids movie. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Afrojack & Wrabel and Calvin Harris

Image
Today I have a new song out by Afrojack! What I love is how the EDM world is dropping new stuff left and right at the moment, which means hours of epic music time. But this song in particular has such a great sound to it because it feels like a mix of a smooth R&B song with EDM. Kudos to Afrojack and Wrabel for making this mix sound so incredibly amazing. This is such a great dance song and one that you can have so much fun just listening to. This style is just so perfect for Afrojack and its one that you can listen to at anytime. Today's instrumental song is by Calvin Harris and it is also a new single by him. I love the energy and of course, being by this great DJ, is just an awesome and pumped up dance song. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
