Keeping It Fresh

Today I decided to post some hardcore electro music because its kind of freaking awesome. This first song is collaboration done by R3hab, Nervo, and Ummet Ozcan. This song has fantastic drops that lead into these cool synth sounds and a weirdly great beat. The vocals are nice and the entire background music is so solid and full. Definitely a good mix done by these three! Today's instrumental song is by Maddix and this song is severely sick. It moves from an intense electronic sound to a smooth trance feel with some house and then transitions back to sweet beats and this persistent energy. I really like the underlying bass you hear at 3:41 because it's pretty mind-blowing. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today's song is by the band Young The Giant. This song explores a completely different side of this band, and I really like it! This is pretty edgy for Young The Giant and they masterfully meld indie rock with a more hardcore style. The vocals have a more intense feel while maintaining an indie sound and there is incredible synth work going on in the background. The climax moment in this song is so great and its pretty aggressive. Basically, this song is unique and edgy! Today's instrumental song is one of the coolest songs I have heard in a long time. This comes from the game Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Everything about this song is absolutely perfect and has great intensity. This is something worthy of the electro gods Daft Punk. Which means this song is phenomenal and beautiful and intriguing. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today's song is by a band that I really love, Swtichfoot. I know that I posted one of their songs roughly a month ago, but this song was too good to pass up on. I love everything about this song, from the bass drum beginnings to the bright and just purely happy chorus. There is something about the way the chorus makes you feel that is so hard to put in words. It is like you feel happy, carefree, wild, free, and uplifted at the same time. This is one of those songs that I would see myself running through a field or the ocean surf feeling complete contentment. I am curious to hear how you guys would describe the chorus feel! Today's instrumental song is from the movie My Name Is Lincoln. This song has such a beautiful feel and the same sort of uplifting feel. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today I have music by the extremely talented Pharrell Williams. I love how Pharrell makes all of his music full of energy and it just makes you feel so damn good. This song is very well labeled because I was definitely feeling very happy when listening to this song. It has a great jazz sound to it while also being R&B. This is just an awesome feel good song and is one that you can put on repeat and still love it! Today's instrumental song is from the movie 50 First Dates. Now this song is also a pretty feel good song but with a different style. I like the percussion work because they use a xylophone. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

For today's song, I decided to a Bollywood song because it has been quite a while since I have posted one of these songs. So this song is a really good dance song. Believe it or not, this is not a Bollywood song that is not only more English than Hindi but also melds an Indian dance sound with a Western one. I highly recommend you turn the bass up for this song and if you feel the groove then just kind of go for it and dance! Today's instrumental song is by LMFAO. It is also a great dance song and requires cool bass pulses. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

For the final day of "Best of 2013" I had to bring on that country spirit and sound. The best country song of 2013 is by the duo Florida Georgia Line. I have to say, this isn't my favorite song but it did gain a ton f popularity. It has that country twang and its quite prominent. This song does have great energy and it also has this happy feel to it. Today's instrumental song is from the movie American Outlaws. This song is kind of epic and Western at the same time which is pretty cool. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today I have the best hip hop and R&B song of 2013 which is by the incredible Macklemore. This song is probably the anthem of the year. Everyone knows this song and I hear it in so many different places. This song is not only a great sounding one with heavy bass and an extremely catchy horn tune, but the lyrics are meaningful too. I love how Macklemore can rap about relevant topics and make social commentary while also blowing up the charts. Basically, he is the bees knees. Today's instrumental song is the from the movie Stoker. This song is pretty sick. It has cool rhythms and awesome drum work. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
