Christina Aguilera and Black Hawk Down

Image
Today's song is from the new movie Catching Fire. Besides the fact that these are freaking awesome movies, I also think both movies in the series have awesome soundtracks. This song is one off the soundtrack done by Christina Aguilera. She does a wonderful job of toning herself down while also being able to do her signature thing. You all know what I'm talking about right? The whole "I am going to hold on to this and sing ooooo as long as possible" thing. But it actually fits and makes this song beautiful. Today's instrumental song is from the movie Black Hawk Down. This is just pure beauty. Everything about this song is so perfect and so poignant. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

The First Doctor and The Eleventh Doctor

Image
Today you guys get to see my super nerdy side. You will either judge me for it or be just as excited-either way, here we go! So both of today's songs are instrumentals. "Why?" you may ask. Because its Doctor Who day. Yup, thats right! Today marks the 50th anniversary of the great show Doctor Who. I haven't seen the episode they aired for today's celebration, so no spoilers! But I am a huge fan of the show and the sheer excitement I have for this episode is through the roof. This first song is the original theme song from the 1963 original airing. The second song is the most recent theme song. Both are very different and equally as epic. I hope you enjoy the music and my geek out and please feel free to comment!

Jonny Lang and Last of the Mohicans

Image
Today's song is by one a phenomenally talented act, Jonny Lang. This guy has an old voice in a young body. He has the complete package of a 70's or 80's rocker-the grit, rasp, and range. Not only does he sound like a real rocker, but he has such great guitar licks and a great sound in general. This guys oozes talent and sheer awesomeness. Towards the end of the song, we get that Stephen Tyler style scream and I just died when I heard it. I recommend listening to more music by Jonny because he is just downright brilliant! Today's instrumental song is from the movie Last of the Mohicans which is probably one of the greatest movies ever. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

The 1975 and Thor: The Dark World

Image
Today's song is by an up and coming band called The 1975. I have blogged about these guys before, and there is good reason as to why I keep blogging about them. This band is so unique, so different, and so original. I haven't heard anything like this in a long time and I love how they have a signature sound. Every song has a background instrument that just plays a harmony and a pulse, but its a sound that every song has. I love this song so much because the vocals and instruments are so calm and soft . I love their style, songs, and just in general, the band! Today's instrumental song is from the movie Thor The Dark World. I sadly have not seen this movie yet, but the soundtrack is amazing! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

The Royal Concept and Beasts Of The Southern Wild

Image
Today's song is by an awesome band called The Royal Concept. These guys actually opened for a Wolf Gang tour and that's when they started getting known. I didn't hear this band till recently and I completely fell in love with this song. The energy is so contagious and the melodies are so much fun! THis is such a feel good song that will lift your spirits if your feeling down or feed into your energy if you are doing alright! This could definitely turn into a popular anthem song so keep your eyes open for it! Today's instrumental song is from the movie Beasts of the Southern Wild. Not only is this movie phenomenal, but so is the score. I highly recommend this movie to everyone. Its something that you don't want to miss out on. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

A.R. Rahman and Osmanli Resimleri

Image
Today's song comes from a Bollywood movie and is sung by some of the best singers in Indian media. A.R. Rahman, Javed Ali, and Mohat Chauhan sing this beautiful and moving qawwali with a magnificent blend of Indian and Sufi styles. This song is one that you feel go down to your soul. Even if you don't understand the words, there is a sense of power and calm that comes with this song. I just think it is absolutely beautiful and the melodies create something that is so indescribable. Today's instrumental song is a version of Middle Eastern Sufi style music. The types of sounds and music you probably think about when thinking of the Middle East or Turkey is expressed in this song and this is one of the greatest pieces I have heard. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Youngblood Hawke and True Romance

Image
Today's song is by an awesome band called Youngblood Hawke. This song is full of energy and has just a great hype to it. The driving beat and guitar rhythms are so much fun and the vocals are nice and soft in the background. This is a well balanced song and it has the ability to take you to another place. The scene I see in my head is a friend driving at night while my head is out of the sun roof and we are driving towards a city with the rows of streetlights above and just enjoying the cool air. This song gives you the feeling like anything is possible and you can have fun in serenity. Today's instrumental song is from the movie True Romance. What I like about this song is the island, tropical sound. This song also sounds like it belongs on the Tarzan soundtrack which is just awesome! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
