The Boxer Rebellion and Oblivion

Image
Today's song is by an internationally formed band called The Boxer Rebellion. Now I know I have been posting more mellow music lately, but this song is just incredible. The vocals are beautifully low and softer than most other bands. The music in the background is so beautiful and it is quite unique. I love the guitar work that goes on in the background because it is almost eerie but warming. This is one of the songs I imagine myself staring at or driving during the sunset or letting the rain wash over me. Yeah, it is one of those songs. Today's instrumental song comes from the movie Oblivion which was scored by M83. This song is just phenomenal, and I really hope you listen to the entire soundtrack because it is mind blowing. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Keane and James Newton Howard

Image
Today's song is by a band from England called Keane. This song is one of the greatest and sweetest songs I have heard. The vocals are very beautiful and has this unique quality to it where it has a very soothing sound with a slight grit to it, but also has this different strength. And of course the accompanying music is just incredible, with great melodies and perfect balance. Today's instrumental song is from the movie Dying Young. I haven't seen the movie, but I did love the score for it! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Markus Schulz and Deorro

Image
Today is all about that electro music. This first song is by Markus Schulz and I have to say it is pretty damn incredible! It has a trance sound to it but also has this Middle Eastern sounding flair to it which makes it even crazier! I am not a huge fan of the vocals, but they go well with the song. Today's instrumental song is by Deorro. This is just an awesome and energetic song that has a pretty sick drop! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Leagues and The Lion, The Witch, & the Wardrobe

Image
Today's song is by a band called Leagues. Something that makes this song so great is the heavy bass guitar line that is used. It is so nice to hear more of that underlying bass and to finally have some bass melodies! This band is similar to other artists out there, but it is also so different. The vocals are very unique, and I haven't heard many bands except for maybe Phoenix that have vocals like these. All in all, awesome song with some nice drumming going on. Today's instrumental song is kind of random and comes from the movie The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

The 1975 and OneRepublic

Image
Today's song is by a band out of England called The 1975. What I love about this band is the ethereal sound mixed with a just enough synth. I am in love with the vocals that the lead singer belts out, especially when he does so in a beautifully haunting way. This band, while modernized, has a focus on discovery of abstract concepts which was the basis of rock when first created. It is just so perfect the way they combine the earliest forms of rock with all the involvements of the genre. I highly recommend checking this band out because they are phenomenal! Today's instrumental song is a version of an incredible song by OneRepublic. Lets be honest, they have some of the most beautiful and energetic music ever! Ryan Tedder is a musical genius! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Amos Lee and Dear John

Image
Today's song is one of those cute, but bearable songs. This song is by Amos Lee, who has a beautiful voice that is pretty unique! This song is pretty adorable and has really nice ukulele work. Its just one of those feel good songs that you can listen anywhere at anytime and still enjoy it because it makes you feel that great! Today's instrumental song is from the movie Dear John. I have not seen the movie yet, and don't plan on it, but for those Nicholas Sparks fans, this one is for you. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Aaron Carter and Vanilla Ice

Image
Today's song is one of the biggest throwbacks ever! I haven't heard this guy in so long-as in years. Aaron Carter kind of peaked in the early 2000s, and I hadn't even thought of this guy till I saw a picture of a friend meeting him. So naturally, I went back and listened to all the Aaron Carter songs I used to love as a little pipsqueak. Maybe this will be a trip down memory lane, or you will get a taste of what was the coolest shit ever! Today's instrumental song is a version of Vanilla Ice's most popular song. I think that is a huge hint as to what song this is. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
