Funeral Suits and Robin Hood

Image
Today's song is an amazing song by an incredible band called Funeral Suits out of Dublin. They have this interesting indie and baroque sound that is just great! This song in particular has a great melody, which you can hear at the beginning, and just an overall sound that is energetic and very unique. This band is definitely worth delving deeper into because they are so damn talented and different! Today's instrumental song is from the movie Robin Hood. I just like this song a lot and it is very different compared to many other movie scores I have heard. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Don Henley and John Mayer

Today I have some older music for you by the incredible singer Don Henley. This song definitely has that trademark 80's sound, but it has this certain sound that makes this song sound even more epic. I think it is the amazing synth work going on in the back. It is the same melody repeated during the verses, but it is just so perfect and almost haunting. Today's instrumental song is by John Mayer, and is his instrumental version of one of his songs. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Harvey Danger and LIT

Image
Today's song is by a rock band that sadly broke up. Harvey Danger was a long running band, and put this song out in 1998. This is definitely one of my favorite songs by them! The lyrics are pretty damn funny and the overall sound is awesome. There is a good energy to the song and the guitars harmonize very well with each other. This song has some throwback elements to that grunge 90's rock that we all love! Today's instrumental song  also by an older band, LIT. This is also one of their best songs! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Katy Perry and The Last Samurai

Image
Now I know it kind of goes against the whole point of this blog to have music by artists like today's, but I had to share this song. So, today I have a song for you by Katy Perry. Half of you are probably groaning at this fact and the other half is pretty damn excited. However, I have to say, this is one of the best songs I have ever heard from her, and in general, it is one of the better songs I have heard coming out of a Top 40 artist. Not only is the song pretty catchy and superbly composed, the lyrics and message are amazing. Hopefully, my groaners won't be by the end of the song. Today's instrumental song is from the movie The Last Samurai. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Morgan Page and Parachute

Image
Today's song is by the DJ Morgan Page! It features vocals by Greg Laswell who has an absolutely beautiful voice. It works very well with this laid back mix and creates a really soothing effect. This song has a really brilliant mix of electronic and piano melodies which creates some really incredible effects and sounds. Today's instrumental song is by the band Parachute, a band which I love so much. Even if you don't like this song, I do recommend looking at the rest of their music because it is so brilliant and fantastic! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Loreen and Rudimental

Image
Today's song is by the Swedish singer, Loreen. I really like her music style because it has a unique sound. It has elements of an electro song, but there is this almost indie-like influence that keeps it chill. This song has a different kind of energy, not exactly dance, but more like a strong pulse and slow power surge. It's like and internal energy strength. But definitely a good listen! Today's instrumental song is by Rudimental and has a different type of energy. Regardless, this song is pretty great as well and pretty uplifting! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Mikky Ekko and The Gladiator

Image
Today's song comes from a beautiful voice belonging to Mikky Ekko. This song has such a beautiful melody and incredible lyrics. I love the softness of his voice which adds this mysterious, ethereal nature to the song. This song is so calming and makes me want to lay with rain falling on my face. Mikky Ekko is definitely worth checking out! Today's instrumental song comes from the movie The Gladiator. As always, Hans Zimmer has created such a beautiful piece. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
